Adding a new 5330e phone to 5000 system and displaying it
« on: February 23, 2018, 05:30:55 AM »
Hi,

I have a Mitel 5000 server, the PC database program and a system of about 10 Mitel 5330e phones.

All of the phones display all the other phones so we can ring each other internally.

I have added a new phone. It has not been added to the display to the other phones on the network.

Any idea why? I have gone to the db program and the new phone is displayed under 5000CP -> System -> Devices and Feature Codes -> Phones.

Thank you for all in adavnce for your help,

Best regards,

Richard.

rcireland,

If you are referring to a DSS/BLF or what is not called a PKM/BLF then you would need to manually program that on each phone. If the remaining blank keys are programmed as programmable keys then it will be easy.

1. Press an open key or dial the program feature code [default: 397] and then press the key.
2. Dial the new extension number
3. Press the key and make sure it rings the new phone.

If the remainder of your open keys are not programmable keys then you will need to find what keymap each phone is using and then manually program it in. To see which keymap each phone is using go to System > Phone Related Information > Keymaps > Look under each keymap Standard and Alternate if you use those.

Thanks,

TE

Hi TE,

Thank you for your reply - it's greatly appreciated.

Sorry for my ignorance but what is DSS/BLF and PKM/BLF?

Thanks again and best regards,

Richard

rcireland,

Not a problem, those are standard industry terms for the buttons that light up on your phone.

Direct Station Select [DSS], Busy Lamp Field [BLF], Programmable Key Module [PKM].

Basically, you are trying to show each station on a button below the display to determine whether it is Busy or Available via the light; BLF. It will also allow you to transfer calls directly to that station just by pressing their button; DSS.

Thanks,

TE
