Mitel 5000 fed by a PRI over copper.

Issue 1:
Moving to SIP using an Adtran 908e SIP to PRI interface for the Mitel.

I can add a route for a DID going to an extension and it rings the extension, can answer the call and two way audio works.

If I route the DID to the STAR applications, if it goes to one that plays a recording, The application answers but no recording will play. The line just stays open.

If I route the DID to a STAR that plays no recording but times out immediately to a Hunt Group, the phones ring and can be answered, but then there is no audio either way.

Does anyone know what the Mitel needs from the PRI so these things work ok? What is different between the carrier's copper PRI from a smart jack and the PRI from the Adtran?

I set the Adtran to use AT&T 5ess, which is the way the Mitel is configured to talk to the smart jack PRI. The Adtran PRI is set for 24 channels. All PRI settings are left the same when testing the PRI from the Adtran.

Issue 2:
When calling in DID routed to extension, rings and is answered, there is a high pitched tone on the calling phone. Two way audio works but the tone is only heard on the calling phone.

Issue 3:
When dialing out from an extension after 6 digits are dialed, the phone display goes to "enter extension number" and the dialing for the outside call stops.

All of the above work fine when connected to the carrier's PRI.

Does anyone know what the Mitel needs?
Is it incoming dialing plans, additional info the PRI needs to send, etc.?

I have one dialing subsitution - The SIP carrier sends 11 digits so I remove the 1 and send 10 digits to the Mitel, which allows me to call in and get this far.

Thanks.

KTSaved,

Are you sure you had a PRI before and not just a T-1?

Most of the time, unless it is old, you would use NI-2 [National ISDN 2] for a PRI.

If you are set to AT&T 5ESS Custom then you may have to adjust your Call Types on the MiVO-250 to work with the Adtran.

I would try changing both the Adtran and the MiVO-250 to NI-2 and see if that helps with some of the issues you are having.

Now, just to honest, some of the audio issues you were having with going through the STAR to a Call Routing Announcement, that did happen on older versions of software. What version of software are you running, not that upgrading your software is valid without Mitel Software Assurance.

Thanks,

TE
