Spread Sheet for Programming Mitel 250

I have been told that there are spread sheets available to fill out and upload to the 250 in order to program phone, users etc.. If this is correct where may I locate these forms?

There is for the 3300, never heard of such a thing for the 5000. You can import users from the Configuration Wizard, but that is about it, everything else is manually done as far as I know.

you can import phones from a file. Under system>devices and feature codes>phones, right click anywhere in the open space on the right hand side and select "Create IP Phones from File"

Browse to the correct file. Make any changes needed and then click on import.

You can create Phones, Phantoms and Hotdesk Profiles, Users, and Mailboxes via csv files.

The easy way to get those csv files to work from is to export one first and use it as a tempate

I'm not really sure how much value there is importing the data. Whenever I tried, I spent more time fixing formatting errors than it would have taken to manually key in the phones.

If I may provide a little more direction for those who engineer/program new systems the easiest way to put in all the information is through the User's form. I would even go so far as to say that not all of the fields (columns) show up in the User's form, but can be manually added to it for it to create things automagically; yes I know that isn't a word.

To reduce mistakes on our part we have our customers fill out an Excel document that can be used to import the information into a csv file. If your default DB has all of your standard templates for each type of device then performing a copy/paste reduces programming time to a bare minimum.

Now, the adding of new devices is sometimes easier to just manually create them, but we have found that the original database is programmed faster using this method.

Proving there's always more than one way to skin a cat, I never create Users unless there's a specific need. Keeps the database cleaner, fewer places to look for issues and easier to handle employee turnover. My experience is that only about 10% of phones need User features.

I delete all User profiles not needed after importing all th base information into the DB. Typically only a couple of users actually use DEE per site, but as you know there are other reasons to create them as well.

Anyway it is just another way to program base information into the system quickly and get started on call flows.

YES on the User import csv. If you use that one it loads everything Ext, VM Boxes and all names. Like previously mentioned you delete unused user's.
Make sure you add a Password column to the end of the csv file (I've attached one for digital and IP) If doing digital phones make sure to prog. your cards
with no info just the ports before importing user csv.
