Exporting forms from Mitel 3300 MCD 4.10 SP1 Rel.
« on: August 03, 2010, 12:11:12 PM »
Dear Greater Mitel Intellect,

We have a Mitel 3300 MCD 4.10 SP1 release controller.

I'm having the hardest time exporting any form via IE 8.0.6001.18702, Windows XP SP3.

After logging into the controller, selecting the form and hitting the 'Export...' button, I get the following behavior:

"Export - Webpage Dialog" window appears.  Export Range - All.  File Type - Comma Delimited (Spreadsheet).

So I press the 'Export' button.  I received a message warning me of a lengthy delay while the data is being retrieved and formatted.  I hit 'OK' to continue.

IE8 gives me a warning - To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer.  Click here for options...

So I click the message bar for options and select 'Download File...'

A windows appears entitled 'Windows Internet Explorer'.  The warning is saying, are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?  etc., etc.

I press okay, and I lose my controller session.  No file is downloaded.

I set the IE8 download options to all enable.
I added the IP of the controller to trusted sites in IE8.

Any other ideas?

Regards,

Mike G.

Try instead of clicking OK on the error, exit it.  This should save your session then try again to export.

Same thing Ralph said, or hit cancel.

It will also save your session and then when you try to export again, it should work correctly.

The easiest way to never have this happen, is to add the ip address/website to the list of "Trusted" local internet site within IE. AFter you've done this, you'll have to completely close every open IE windows. The next time you go to the controller's website, it will prompt you with a "Trusted Site" confirmation box.

Hello,

Thank you for the prompt replies.  Regrettably, this did not work.

Cancelling out of the message (i.e. press the x button on the message bar), brings me back to my session.  But upon trying to export the form again, I get the same message from IE.

I have added the site to trusted sites in IE.  Still no joy.

Thanks again for the suggestions.  It's obviously an IE problem...I'll see what's on the MS forums.

Try holding down the ctrl key while exporting the forms.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.  Regrettably, this did not work.

Held ctrl key, while pressing 'export...' button.  Held ctrl key, while pressing 'export...' again from export window.  And vice versa.

Thanks again for you suggestion, however.  I know I didn't have problems w/ exporting using earlier versions of IE.  I'll see if I can get IE 5.5 from somewhere reputable.

Hello,

For future reference, here's the resolution:

Though I searched for this before, I guess I didn't search enough.

Thanks again for the replies, everyone.

go to internet options, security, trusted sites, sites, add ip address, uncheck https stuff, go to custom, reset everything to low, then go to local intranet, i unchecked auto check, and left the 3 sub options checked, clicked advanced, added site, then went to custom and again set everything to low.   works fine for me.

 mgodinez,

Was it these steps that fixed it?

(shamelessly copied from his link above)

To stop the information bar from blocking file and software downloads

 - Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.

 - Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

 - Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level.

Do one or both of the following:

 - To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable.

 - To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.

 - Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK again.
