Can an EHDU can dial out to the PSTN through the 3300?
« on: July 15, 2010, 01:29:19 PM »
Am I correct in my thinking that an EHDU can dial out to the PSTN through the 3300 (MCD 4.0 UR 3)?

I can make calls to my cell using the Hot Desk ext number so I have made it that far. I just don't know how to dial out using the PRI on the 3300 from my cell.

You'll have to have a DID pointed to the internal extension number of the EHDU. Then you call that DID, identify yourself, and then when dial-tone is returned, dial 9+Number just like if you were inside. We've got it, so that if your cell is programmed as your EHDU, and you call the EHDU number, it will recognize you and just give you dial-tone back.

Every time I try to dial out it drops my call. Is there something in the COS that I could be missing?

COS of your EHDU: public access via DPNSS = yes, public trunk to public trunk = yes
I take it you have also checked you have a good COR for dialling out.

Both options were set to yes and I don't have a COR group blocking me.

What about an interconnect restriction?

do you have the 'Permanent Login - External Only' COS option set to yes? If so change this to no.

Try and run a CCS trace and see what is happening. Post the code up so we can have a look. Also ensure that Trunk Service COS has Public trunk to Public trunk set to yes.

All of my trunks have Public to Public set to yes. I called in and this is what the trace gave me:

CCS Tracing is enabled for continuous output display
07:19:48 RI1 DPN 2A ISRM_I  ;10;*3#*19*Z#*58*Ca*1*Z#*233*`IBb#*58*CI*W5#
07:19:48 RI1 DPN 14 SSRM_C  *50*XXXXXXXXXX#3375
07:19:48 RO1 DPN A  NAM     *166*4 6#
07:19:49 RO1 DPN 1  CCM
07:20:04 RO1 DPN 2  CRM/CIM ;0;
07:20:04 RI1 DPN 2  CRM/CIM ;0;

3375 is the DID for the EDHU, and well my cell is there as "X's" so the world doesn't have it (I get enough wrong numbers as it is).

See my post above about cos option 'hotdesk user permanent login -external only' if you have you EHDU set up for mobile twinning at the moment and follwed the help file to set this up then you probably have this set to yes which means that your EHDU is set up for twinning only and cannot be used to make calls etc.
Basically if you have that cos option set to yes and no PIN set on the user it defines it as a outbound only EHDU and this is what the help file says:

Note: To create an outbound-only EHDU, omit the PIN and enable the Permanent Login - External Only COS option. This is the recommended method of including non-Mitel extensions in a Mitel hunt group or other type of group. Outbound-only EHDUs cannot originate calls and have their corporate (tel dir) name and number presented to the called party.

Looking at your CCS trace this might be a LOGIN failure/issue
How do you LOGIN to the system?

Called from my cell to the DID that was programmed in the Misc Assignment form, entered my PIN. I think the log in works since I can call the four digits to my cell.
