6800i phone firmware experiences?
« on: January 30, 2015, 04:45:27 PM »
I am one of the Aastra partners grandfathered into the Mitel program, and testing the 6867i phone this week I am finding some functionality is buggy. DTMF and initiating calls from software are 2 of the glaring problems I'm seeing - both of which work fine with the 5700i series phones.

Googling for others with similar issues finds relatively few others reporting problems, but I suspect this may be simply due to the newness of the phones and lack of widespread use.

In any case, I have concern that the 6800i series will never be what the 5700i phones were to me and other IP telephony VAR's - i.e. good, configurable VoIP end-points to use with non-Mitel switches.

Anyone have opinions / experiences they'd like to share?

Sad that with 1200+ views, nobody has any opinion.

I guess buying Aastra did actually kill the open market for these phones.

And the firmware is still buggy. No updates since mid 2016.

RIP Aastra.

Hi mate

Installed quite lot of 6800 on A(MiVoice)400 wit various versions of firmware and can agree with you that there is a lots of rooms for improvements...
Don't have problem with dialling or dialling from SW (Mitel dialler???) but with MWI (6867 and 6869 - correction required on cfg file), callback on Line keys,...Functionality - whole call handling procedure (transfer, hold) on low end phones (6863 and 6865)...
Haven't tried 6900 series (not available yet on on MiVoice400) but looking on them, expecting same issue as design is based on 6800 series...
And yes, RIP Aastra
