Night service message
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:05:57 PM »
So i have an interesting issue...one of my branches night message is on, and no one knows how to turn it off.

I ran the maintainence command "programmed service schedule display" and my output is as follows:

PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULE IS OFF
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULE DAY IS ON
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULED DAY: DAILY 09:00:00
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULE NIGHT1 IS OFF
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULED NIGHT1: DAILY 17:00:00
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULE NIGHT2 IS OFF
PROGRAMMED SERVICE SCHEDULED NIGHT2: DAILY 18:00:00

My question...why is the night message on base on this output?
And how do  i turn it off?

Please keep in mind, no one says they turned the message on, and they never do.

Run the command "CP SERVICE DAY" and it will change to day. Also, you can use DISPLAY, NIGHT1, and NIGHT2 in the place of "DAY."

Someone could have used a phone to change the service, or someone could have changed the business hours form in the VM.

Just a couple of guesses.

Bear in mind that if a system is in day mode and reboots for any reason, it will come up in night1 mode.

Under Business hours this is what i see:

Open/Closed System greetings based on:    ICP Day/Night Mode

   Open   Closed
Sunday   00:00   00:00
Monday   00:00   00:00
Tuesday   00:00   00:00
Wednesday   00:00   00:00
Thursday   00:00   00:00
Friday   00:00   00:00
Saturday   00:00   00:00

Nothing is set, and i do not know if it was changed.

I have tried the CP service day...and it worked.

Now i wonder if it will change over tonight if the schedule is set like this.

Since your programmed schedule is set to off the mode of service must be set manually.

You can have the greeting change automatically by setting the open/closed greeting to business schedule.

But if you look at the business schedule there...all 0:00  how would that work?

I would really like to know how it was turned on to night.  Our admin, does not know how to do it.  I have to look and see if the ICP rebooted, but i doubt it.  It's even on a UPS.

night service can be activated by a feature access code also. check the COS of your stations to see if 'dialled night service' is allowed. Also you can look through the maintenance logs to see service changes and who did them.

That was one of the first things i looked at...Feature access codes.  There are none.

I will check the logs and see.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Since use ICP Day/Night mode is selected it ignores the times in the Business hours list. You set it this way if you wish to change the service mode manually.
