Mitel Linux image NTP problem
« on: July 02, 2012, 09:16:12 AM »
Hi guys,

Hoping one of you has seen this and can help, we have multiple Mitel 5000 boxes running fine, the only issue I have is that the CSM server is on a virtual Windows 2003 server image, this sits on top of the Mitel Linux image on the same physical box.

The 5000 gets it's NTP from our forest, this works fine, the Win 2003 gets it's time locally (as if it is using the CMOS clock), but it is really getting it's time from the Mitel Linux image (server manager).

Server Manager accepts an NTP server however it only polls once then stops.

The log entries look like this:

2012-06-28 15:17:35.911851500 28 Jun 15:17:35 ntpdate[24773]: step time server 10.3.10.1 offset -7.939575 sec

2012-06-28 15:20:52.193012500 28 Jun 15:20:52 ntpd[24770]: kernel time sync disabled 0001

I can force a sync by setting Server Manager to manual time then re-entering the NTP settings, then I resync the Windows image to this, I would rather have NTP work properly on the Server Manager Linux image of course.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Craig.
