Mitel 3300 CX Slow ESM
« on: February 01, 2012, 11:00:11 AM »
We upgraded a CX to ver 5.0.
It's the older model and we had to add RAM to it.
It now runs significantly slower when connecting via ESM.
When I say 'significant' I mean you can go get a cup of coffee between screen refreshes.
My tech called Mitel TS and was told that system had a slower processor and we had to expect it to run slow.

Has anyone else had issues with taking an old CX to ver 5.0?

Ralph

I upgraded a ~5 year old CX to 5 last week (from 4.1 mind you), and noticed that the boot time was really blown out. A good 25 minutes for the system to come up and be ready (with the PRI trunk ready to go).

Response when jumping through pages in ESM wasn't too bad, but a bit slow, but at the time I put that down to the AV scanner on my laptop or something and didn't worry too much.

First generation CXs are really slow, especially if you have TDM (PRI, analog) traffic and if you have high DSP loads (voicemail, conferences).

It's even worst with 5.0.  I suspect that webpages are larger than before...

I had my customer disconnect the system from the network then connect his laptop directly to the controller.
Greatly improved response times.
So something must be going on with his network.   Turning the problem over to our networking staff.
