TAPI on a 3300
« on: November 24, 2011, 12:50:58 PM »
Hi

We have had a *really* frustrating time with Mitel suppliers - at times I wondered if I was in an episode of The Office. They (more than one) supply contradictory information, prices and perform the most laughable demos. For example, just recently in a screencast demo: The demoer was supposed to be showing us phone integration and couldn't ...because she was on the phone to us.

Anyway ... the one thing I can do is software development and I am sure I could program the TAPI API with a bit of help.  What do I need installed to talk to the 3300?  I assume I need a 3300 (or Mitel) specific TAPI driver - how do I get one?  We have version 9.0 UR3 on the box.

It's not what you got on the box that is important, but what version of Windows you want to run the Tapi on.
Up untill XP the "old" YA Tapi driver is working fine. Mitel stopped with this driver. So there is no new one.

Lots of PCs here do have XP although as a limitation it is pretty tough.  I can give my W7 a go in XP Mode (which just means in a VM). Do you know where I can get the driver?

So... does their (Mitel) software not use TAPI?

I understand that if Unified Communicator Express is installed there is another tapi plug-in that works.  See http://www.ingeniussoftware.com/ingenius/CRM/tapi.asp.  I have not tried it.
