MWI Key for ACD Paths - How-to
« on: September 30, 2011, 11:59:07 AM »
Here's a new trick I just learned so I thought I'd share.

3300: CX: 8.0:  Embedded VM

A customer wanted a MWI key to appear on several agents phones for an ACD path.
Of course you can't have a MWI key for a ACD path and no amount of VM hacking will make it work.

We found a work around.

1 - program an analog line : example 1234
2 - Program a MWI key on the agent phones for 1234.
3 - Create a unique COS and assign it to 1234.  Set the CFNA timer to be the lowest as possible.  - works out to be ~2 rings.
4 - Call reroute 1234 to VM on RNA.  (Note: the RNA reroute is what makes this work)
4 - Program the VM box 1234.
5 - Set your path to interflow and unavailable to 1234.

Now your MWI light will work.
The important part is 1234 has to forward on RNA.  If you set it to always reroute it will not work.

The messages will be delivered in the 1234 mailbox and not that Path mailbox but normally this isn't an issue for the customer.

It burns a license.   You could program a button on an existing phone but you can't set forward timer to it's lowest.

Can't tell you how much time I spent hacking on this.   White boarding, etc.   Another tech took a look at it and discovered this work around.

Bob,

Do you push voicemail --> to email for ACD by rely'ing on the embedded voicemail and internal SMTP of the 3300 & customers SMTP server?

Do you have it automatically delete messages after forwarding to email, or do you have the customer clear those out just in case the SMTP failed?

I usually do something like this

path = 2000
mwi = 12000
feature for vm on *25
feature for vm off #25
system speedcall *252000 = *2512000
system speedcall #252000 = #2512000

It seems to work with embedded and NuPoint HCI

Ooo.   Another nice trick.
Didn't think it would work on embedded.   Nice to know.
