NuPoint Msgr
« on: December 14, 2007, 03:07:24 PM »
I'm trying to set up remote access into a new NuPoint using dialup pptp.
Worked directly with Mitel tech support and they can dial in just fine.
But when I dial up and get the text window to enter "CLIENT" I get no response.

This is true with multiple computers and modems.
I've used USR 33.6 and internal AT&T modems.  No diff.

Anyone got any tricks?

Ralph

What os the window that comes up?  A pptp connection should not have any windows opening.

The OS is XP.   The window that pops ups is a text window that allows you to type some info to the host.  This then kicks on the DUN client, the text window goes away and you should be off to the races.

When you're in the DUN client, under the general tab, click "Configure".  This will bring up the modem properties.   Then check the box that says "Show terminal window".   Working with Mitel engineers, this is what they had me do.  I thought I could script the text that needs to be entered once I actually got it working manually but I can never get that far.
