Transfer to VM failure
« on: July 06, 2011, 03:21:03 PM »
Has anyone had any problems with the *ext transfer on MCD 4.2 SP2? I upgraded a site from 4.0 last night that uses it heavily and they are getting recalls now instead of it going to VM. I am going to look on MOL next, but it is easier to start here.

I failed to mention that it is the embedded VM.

I wouldn't think this would have anything to do with the upgrade and I know I'm asking obvious questions but:
Did you check the No Answer Recall timer in the COS of the trunks and transferring station?
Or,
Are you sure the sets are still rerouted?

I even built a new COS for the hunt groups and changed the call reroute to 4 sec so that there was no way the recall timer would affect it. And yes, the extensions still reroute correctly if dialed.

What happens if you do a call fwd always at the station level?

And oh?  Did you stat the ports?
Is the HG in DND or something wierd?

They are "voice" hunt groups.

I did not stat the ports, the voicemail seems to be working fine. With the exception of this of course.

No active features on the hunt groups.

I did get a little more info from the end user. She says that after she initiates the transfer she can hear the greeting start to play, but after she releases the call the caller never makes it to the mailbox and rings back to her. It is a very short recall as well.

I'm not quite sure I understand.
Is the user transferring to a phone and letting it forward to VM or is the user transferring directly into a persons VM box?

If the user is transferring a caller, hears the greeting but when the call is released it rings back to her, that would suggest to me there is now some type of restriction between the VM ports and the trunk ports.    What would 1st come to mind is the COS of the VM changed so that it no longer has Public Network via DPNSS but could also be an interconnect restriction.

The user is trying to transfer directly to vm.

That COS option was "no" so I changed it. I will repost after someone makes it there for me to test with.

I do not have any interconnect restrictions on this site.

I'd bet that is it.

It was indeed. I find it odd that it seems to not have affected it before the upgrade. I know for a fact it wasn't changed and had been working for months. Oh well, stranger things have happened.

Thanks for the help.
