When I press 0 I get INVALID on the display and a fast busy.  This should ring the operator X1000.  Do I treat 0 like any other extension?  Should I set it up in my ARS Digits dialed?  I am not sure where to start for this.

'0' has not been defined in your system.
Do the simple thing, go to the "system speed call" form and add '0' as the speed dial number and '1000' as the actual number.

Then send beer. ;D

When I tried to enter the speed dial I was informed that 0 already existed.  I found it on the only console we have.  It is located on the remote (at least from my phone) 3300.  So it appears I just dont have a path from the 3300 I and half of the campus are connected to the 3300 the console is connected to.

Not so sure about that.
If it said it already existed but you don't have a route, then it must be active somewhere else.

Go to maintenance and enter these command:
loc num 0
loc fe ex 0

Since it's an RDN it should be dialable.
From your 1st post you said you were getting a "Invalid".
This could be because 0 is forwarded some where that's isn't a real number
Or it could be that your RND table is messed up.
You obviously have at least one more system in your network.
Find which PBX 0 is programmed on and then do the same commands I suggested above.
Then go into the call rerouting tables and see where it's forwarded to.

RDN =  Remote Directory Number.

Should there be a sticky where people can add acronyms?

  Maybe, but something like that would be better in a Wiki format.  With just a thread it would end up with dozens of posts and be tricky to find useful stuff.  We need an alphabetical list.....

depending on your ARS setup your 3300 may be looking for more digits than "0" and that could cause the invalid response. Some tweaking in ARS digits dialed could fix it.

Sorry about the acronym.  I'll stop using them PDQ. :)

How many systems do you have?
Log into each and then in maintenance do a "loc ext 0" to see where it's at.
Then have someone there dial 0 to see what it says on their display.

If it doesn't work now why not just delete the entry in the Remote Directory form and make it a speed call?

I dont watch the thread for a day and look at the responses.   
I believe that if 0 were four digits it woud work.  Since it sees 0 in the other cluster with and ID of 801 and in my ARS Digits dialed entry 801 wants 4 digits to follow. 

I have a console with a button programmed as 0. I think that if I remove the button and have a system speed call entered in each remote switch that send 0 to the primary extension of the console that it would work. Since the primary number of each console is a 4 digit extensions.

The other thought I had is if I have an entry in my ARS digits dialed

Digits dialed  |  Number to follow | Term type | Term Num
801                   4                            Route           7

Can I add
801                   1                            Route             7

In other words two entries with the same digits dialed with different Number to follow?

In your ARS change the Number of Digits to follow to be "unknown" and retry.
