Hunt Group Extension Not Obtainable from DDI Number
« on: April 11, 2011, 07:10:03 AM »
Mitel 3300 ICP

Hi All

I have setup 2 Hunt Groups for 2 divisions of our Sales Dept which both have similar Extension numbers (6661 and 6662)
These extensions I assumed would use the same in the direct dial to the extension eg.

Ext. 6661 - DDI (Area Code) 856661
Ext. 6662 - DDI (Area Code) 856662

Unfortunately I dial the number but it gives an INVALID return.
Our Phone Extension usually end in 64** or 65** but we are running out so I used them 66** for the hunt group's

How can I setup the system to allow me to specify this these numbers for these Extension, especially as letters have gone out customers with the new number?

Please help me resolve this as it could be rather embarrising :0( - All help greatly received!!

Many thanks

Mark

What happens when you dial 6661 or 6662 internally?

Are these numbers the hunt group pilot numbers? If so, are the extensions in the hunt groups valid?

You mentioned that your numbers typically are 64xx and 65xx, your PSTN is routing the 66xx numbers to you aren't they?

I can dial the extensions no problem just not the DDI number, is there a way the system can tell me if the 66** numbers are being forwarded?

Thanks

if your ext matches your ddi but the call does not get through this is most likley that the routing between ext & ddi is done in system speedcall assignment. Check the system speedcall assignment form and you will most likley see allot of entries that look like this:

Speedcall number             Actual number
866650                                 6650
866651                                 6651

If so just add in the entries for your new groups and all should work ok

Run a ccs trace, dial the full ddi and see what you are getting sent in, then route the calls accordingly.

And, when the ccs trace is running - dial a number that you know works.  That way you can know if you don't get anything on these new numbers that telco is not sending them to you....

Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated!!

I havwe tried adding the new number to the speed call assignment as suggested, which works from internal calls using only the number without the area code eg.

Internally dialled: 6661 - Works perfect
Internally dialled: 856661 - (added through speed call assignment) Works perfect
Externally dialled: 01442 856661 - Fails
Internally dialed using full number: 901442 856661 - Fails after dialling 901442 8566 - error message on phone 'INVALID'

The biggest problem is I need this to be a DDI so outside people can call this number and its becoming urgent :0(

Unfortunately I have never ran a CCS Trace either so any help with that would be appreciated also?

Any more ideas would be welcomed guys.......?

Thanks

Mark

I suppose one of us should ask an even more basic question:
Are you sure that that number is within your DDI block?
You may have to call your carrier to verify.
It is quit possible that the carrier is not sending you the number.

To run the trace command, go to maintenance commands and enter:
CCS Trace en cont
To stop it enter:
CCS Trace dis

Turn on the trace during a quite time, then call from your cell.   If the call is coming in you will see a bunch of detail in within that detail you should see your cell number.   Then I'd post the ccs trace here so we can look at it.   Be sure to replace your cell number with something like "<my cell number>" so your cell number is broadcast around the internet.

Also verify how many digits they are sending you and that trunk attributes is not stripping off extra digits.
