Mitel 3300 Random ring around setup
« on: April 07, 2011, 04:48:12 AM »
Hi i would be grateful for some assistance with a dept ring group set up. At present it is set to ring a group and goes round in the order that is listed so user 1 always rings first. Managers are complaining that user 1 is taking all the calls and colleagues are ignoring user 1's phone when it rings rather than picking it up being in the same pick-up group. Is there a way to set it to randomly ring the people in the pick-up group or ring group at all rather than start from user1?

The dept are in the same pick-up group and ring group using 5312 handsets.

Thanks in advance!

You could make all of the users ring at once with ease by selecting "Ring All" in the ring group. Or you could set up a hunt group and make it circular. Or you could setup an ACD path. Depends on how you want to approach this really.

For simplicity, I'd remove the ring group and change it to a Circular Hunt group as Mattmayn suggested.

You can also overflow your ring group as well.
