5312 lock ups
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:54:08 AM »
3300  MXe (9.0.2.31_1)
I have a customer that has a couple of different phone types.
5312
5330

The problem is that the 5312 phones (not all but appears to be a significant number of them) simply stop functioning.
The phone looks like it's up but no DT or display updates.
Had one this AM where it looked like it was ok but the date was Feb-19 10:19am.
Had the customer attempt to go into config mode but it wouldn't respond.
Logs only show the Enterprise Mgr logging in ~4 times an hour.  No errors.
Do a power reset of the phone and it works just fine.
Swap the phone with a 5330 and it works without further issues.

Using Extreme switches.

Has anyone seen this before?

Got it.
It's a known issue with that version of 9.0

Got the binaries now.   Just need to up load it and reboot the phones.

Damn - I wanted to blame the Extreme switches!  I have an odd issue now on them where a Cisco 7985 video phone will ignore the Admin VLAN setting and land on the data network - whereas other Cisco phones (794x 796x) work as expected.  Been working with TAC for weeks on it now.... :)
