Outbound Caller ID
« on: November 14, 2008, 11:24:40 AM »
We recently installed a new T1 module and the outbound caller id isn't working.  It comes up unknown or private.  I compared the COS of the trunks to another controller that is working and there was no difference.  If anyone could enlighten me on this subject I would appreciate it.

I'm doing this from memory so bear with me....
You need to assign a DID index to it under the PRI assignment form.

Hope that points you in the right direction.

remember this only works for PRI, not a standard voice T1. also the telco should provide a default CPN on outbound calls.. so that if the remote CO switch doesnt receive the CPN from the mitel it will insert usually the BTN or main number of your property. the default would be something you would set up with the telco.

It is also common for the telco to overwrite what you send - they have to have thier end set up correctly as well.

You can try the maintenance command:   ccs trace enable cont

See if you can see the in and outbound caller ID information listed.....

CPN Substitution was not programmed and that fixed it.  I should mention we have two DS3's from separate vendors and we split the inbound and outbound traffic between them.  Both DS3's come into an Adtran Atlas 890 and we mux out the lines from there to the 3300's.  My confusion comes because both vendors are supposed to be inserting the caller ID.  I am guessing that either the programming isn't right in the Adtran and I am going out on one of the dedicated T1's or our vendors aren't actually providing it.  Anybody and Adtran genius too?  If not, no worries I will figure it out.

Thanks for all of your help!
