Question Regarding Mitel SRC Licensing
« on: February 02, 2011, 08:08:22 AM »
I have a question about the licensing for the SRC. I have MBG running on site that has the SRC in it but I do not have it licensed. Is this a per connection (set) license or a global enable license?

SRC licenses are per recorded device. In the new version of the SRC, although the licensing is the same but it will be able to record based on hotdesk login and not the device

I assume that you must apply the base to MBG6.1 to enable and then add the users on top of that?

54003181 part number are for the standalone solution which is no longer sold, if you have the MBG sith the SRC on, then you have the latest version and would need the licenses as limamikeseven provided:

54003182 single user license
54003183 10 pack license

I have another question. It is related enough so I will post it here.

If I simple disable the encryption on the 3300 what are the pros/cons of that?

This is what the Call Recorder people now want me to do.

If you disable encryption, all voice packets will use RTP and SRTP, therefore is the packets were captured all information can be read and played back.

No company should recommend to disable encryption on any voice platform, especially a VR comapny. I would be interest to know who the VR company as Mitel only support or recommend recording via the SRC.
