Backup failure - cannot connect to ICP via FTP from any machine
« on: October 12, 2010, 02:49:03 PM »
Thanks again to all for the assistance you've provided.

Got another strange, remedial-feeling, but elusive problem on my hands.
Trying to backup our data is unsuccessful from multiple client machines - XP, Win7, 2003, 2008, you name it.
FTPing to the ICP 3300 is not successful. No rejection/drop message - just nothing.
Most of the troubleshooting info I've read starts from the point after successful connection to the 3300.
Anyone else dealt with this issue? I thought it was all about Windows 7 as the client machine, but I don't think so any longer.

If you connect serial to the maintenance port of the 3300 and watch it as it backs up, when/where does it fail?

When trying to FTP are you using IE?
See if you can FTP from the command line and let us know what you get.

A firewall (network or PC) could cause this issue.....
