Restricting internal calls to other extensions
« on: June 10, 2015, 06:51:34 AM »
Hello all,

I'll try to explain the situation the best I can.

We have a client who has a sub-tenant in their premise. The sub-tenant wants a handset but our client does not want the sub-tenant to be allowed to dial all internal extensions, only a select few.  Does anyone know of a way to restrict which internal extensions can be dialled by the sub-tenant?

Thanks in advance,

Rasritz

Will Class of service Toll restriction work for this?  Or only for outgoing calls?

COS won't help, applies only to outside calls.  Closest I can get to a solution is that you could program that user as a HOUSE PHONE set to dial 8 for outside line as soon as he picks up the handset or presses speaker button.  But this wouldn't prevent him from dialing an IC ext BEFORE picking up.  Of course, this WOULD work if you give him an analog phone.  Sorry.

I wonder of you could use a sip phone and possibly do the restriction via it's dial plan

There is no way to restrict intercom calls on the same node.
