SIP On Mitel / DTMF not correctly sent from SIP extension
« Last post by mem94043 on April 01, 2024, 12:59:19 PM »
I have a SIP door phone set up on a MiVo250. Users can call from any Mitel IP phone extension to the door phone (SIP ext) and when it answers they  dial the 'relay' code (built-in to door phone) and it triggers just fine. However, if the door phone initiates a call to another Mitel IP extension and it answers, the door phone does not recognize any touch tones entered by the user on the IP phone.  So, I essentially have one-way DTMF working.  Any thoughts on what is causing this??  Thx!

SIP On Mitel / Re: 6867i 6.2 Firmware Interesting Issue
« Last post by crazyscout on March 27, 2024, 10:11:13 AM »
Found part of the issue, the Outbound proxy server being a URL was causing the phone some issues. Based off of the PCAP I did where I saw no registration attempts this leads me to believe it is a DNS issue as it cant resolve our URL to an IP thus has nowhere to send a registration attempt to. The odd part is our provisioning server is configured as a URL as well so DNS must be working if it grabs configurations just fine.

Rolling back to pre 6.X firmware also resolves the issue and the phones register just fine. Anyone know if there were any kind of DNS changes in the 6.X firmware?

Look in your Detained User Updates, there should be an Update record for the user that you just need to check the checkbox for and then click "Save".

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Dialing issue with the 5304 IP phones

The problem with the 5304 phone is the design of the plastic pieces are not rigid enough to keep the parts of the hookset switch steady. So when someone stabs there finger at the number pad, it deforms the frame and closes the hook even though the handset is not in the cradle.  It's momentary, but enough to screw up the call.
I found a way to tie the plastic body layers together so it keeps the hookset stable.  Disassemble the phone and you will see a "well" that the hookswitch parts rest in.  You can tie the top layer down to the well by drilling 2 small holes at the bottom of the well and carefully thread some strong waxed lacing string through the holes and tie the circuit board down on top of it. I can provide pictures if you want to see how to do it.  It take about 30 minutes to do it which is usually a little less then buying a new phone (that will do the same thing eventually).

At this point the whole 5300 line has been EOL for a good 5+ years. You're better off just going ahead and spending the money for a 6905 or 6910.

What about just adding a SIP client to a cell phone?

Ralph

This won't be practical for our purposes. We have several stores and need basestations/cordless phones for our warehouses.

Mitel Software Applications / Micollab IDS Managed Client user information
« Last post by Vitman on March 25, 2024, 02:26:31 PM »
I apologize if this is posted somewhere else and I haven't found it. We have a setup where we pull in user's from AD through IDS syncing. We have several users that have changed titles and I would like to be able to modify that without deleting them and re-syncing to AD and pull them back in. I don't see anywhere where that can be modified in the Micollab Client service configuration. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

Well that's a short and clear answer! Then I have to reconsider how to solve this... Maybe the user can be static...

Thanks!

The MiVB does not support hot desking on SIP phones.

Hi,

First of all, I love this source of Mitel information! It really helped me out in some cases! Thanks for that!

But now I have this issue. I mistakenly bought 2 6869i SIP phones. On our Mivoice we have 69xx phones and 5xxx Minet phones. I can't return those 2 SIP only phones but I want to try to use them anyway as they are 2 really good phones. I can make SIP accounts in the Mivoice but i'm wondering if I can login my hotdesk users on it. I used to be working with Avaya and Broadsoft, 3CX and i managed to do hotdesking on those boxes. But Mitel differs from those machines. I crawled  this site and our friends at Google, but i just can't find an answer.

So can i use hotdesking on SIP phones and is there a description availble how to do this on a Mivoice Business. Or is there Minet software which can be flashed in to these phones?

I hope you can help me, thank you in advance!
