MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Inter-Tel 8602 Softphone need help
« on: February 08, 2010, 08:19:38 PM »
I am told the 8602 will connect to my 5200.
I have installed on both Win7 and Win XP Pro, with the same results, I am pretty sure it is the setup on the 5200.

This is what I see in the log when I try to connect.
Code: [Select]
Starting communications subsystem.
Watching for winding modules.
Broadcasting UDP messages to find local IPRC/IPRA.
Trying to find remote IPRC/IPRA via TCP messages.
No local IPRC/IPRA responded to our broadcast.
Trying to find remote IPRC/IPRA via TCP messages.
Connection established.  Waiting for authentication...
Device ID is not programmed into the remote IP card.
Could not establish a connection to Call Processing.
I have setup the end-point as a valid extension and set the MAC to 00:00:00:00:01:16 which is the extension for that device.

In the softphone I setup the normal IP addresses, and then tried the MAC of the network card locally.

Anyone have any pointers.

Well, I was interested in monitoring the bandwidth useage, but figured out how to do it from our switch port instead.
I am using CACTI with Weathermap to show network useage.

v2win,

thanks, teleworker, does that require a teleworker server.?

The 5000 does not have sip enabled, I think the problem is at the office side, it may be the NAT is not setup correctly.
I can get to the system via port 8080 but then when I setup a phone at home to connect the TFTP process does not start.

Will look at the NAT on Monday

We have a Juniper SSG-5, beind it is a Mitel 5200.
I want to connect a 5340 phone at home on my Roadrunner, and expect it to call the 5K.
Has anyone done this, and does anyone have a sample config for the SSG5.

That is the process, I ended up setting one of the spare NIC's in the DHCP server to the proper
IP for the Mitel segment, and then all worked fine, I will try your suggestion as soon as I get
the system stable, working on the email notfication, and the phones at home calling the 5K

Ralph,

Thanks, kinda thought so.
I have a Juniper SSG320 firewall, working on the config to allow all the required ports to access the ICP.

Will post what I can when I get this working.
Also, the email gateway settings are causing me a minor headache, for sending
email notifications.

I use an internal smtp relay agent on one of my servers, because our Exchange is on a cloud service.

here is second document, since I made these changes, my phones can be put on th ethernet, without any config'ng, and get opion 43, then go to th correct vlan, and ip, then they switch to Minet mode.

Well I did try to upload tehe dcs. damn I feel stupid for not checking if it worked.
Let me try again.

All the phones on the 5000 system connectto the ICP just fine.

But when I leave the building and take one of the phones say a 5340 to my home.
How do I or what process is needed to setup the programming for it
to connct to the office.  Keep in mind the system goeslive on Tuesday tomorrow.

So after that, I should hav more info.

My dealer said there are no ways to monitor the 5000.

Anyone have ideas?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5200 installed
« on: January 15, 2010, 02:32:23 PM »
Glad to find this forum, my dealer has installed a 5200 this week, and we are to cutover on the 19th.

Had a big problem with this box and DHCP, as I have a dhcp server that has 4 scopes, each in a different vlan.
The option 43 was setup correctly, and what was happening;
vlan-1 was client pc
vlan-99 was mitel endpoints

If I had the endpoint setup and connected, it would not get a ip, just stay at dhcp discovery.
If I made the port where vlan 99 was the only vlan active it worked great, but the end-users pc was not active now on the
correct vlan.

SOooo, I took my dhcp server, and statically setup a ip on one of the extra NICs, like 192.168.99.250
then every time a endpoint wanted an ip, it worked just fine.

I am looking forward to testing with remote phones in our other offices.
