It seems the users are stating this is working again, so whatever the issue was seems to have cleared up. Thanks again for the assistance with this.

Thank you for the response. I have checked the routing but it is possible I may be missing something. I added a MWI to my extension for testing and it seems it simply calls the internal extension number on 52xx when I press it. I will try rebooting the vnupoint as I believe it has been running awhile but I believe the issue will most likely persist.

I apologize for the bit of longevity, just trying to cover relevant info, or at least I hope so.

vmcd   MiVoice business 9.1.0.95
vnupoint  Mitel Standard Linux 10.5.17.0

Office phones 5330
2 phones on internal 52xx extension numbers
One of the 52xx phones has a CPN substitution number assigned, 82xx
both office phones have a Multicall button for the external number, 82xx
both office phones have an MWI button assigned for the external number, 82xx

There is a mailbox setup on the external number, 82xx on the vnupoint server.

This was setup prior before I arrived here. I'm not certain how it functioned before, but the office personnel are stating it does not seem to be working correctly, or at least not how they remember it to function.

When a voicemail message is received on the external number, 82xx, the MWI light blinks. When they press the MWI button, it dials the external number, 82xx, basically the same as calling that extension, they get the greeting and it asks to leave a message.

They stated in the past it would take them directly to the voicemail box instead of calling the number. I do not know for a fact if indeed it worked in that manner, but that is what they are indicating.

If they call the message center and enter the mailbox number, 82xx and password, they can retrieve their messages, but the MWI light button continues to blink after they discard all messages. They are stating the only way they can stop the MWI light from blinking after checking messages is to unplug the phone and plug it back in.

When I checked the mailbox for 82xx, the Class of Service was initially set to SMTPWeb and Messaging Waiting was set to none. I changed the Class of Service to AUM and Message Waiting to Mitai Messaging, same as all our other mailbox settings, but it does not seem to make a difference in the MWI behavior.

I have tried to search for the MWI information and what I have come across so far seems to indicate that if the phones are set with a Multicall number, the MWI button should function to get their messages, but I do not know if that is the actual case.

I am hoping someone may have  information on how this is supposed to work or how I may be able to get it work for them to retrieve messages?

Ok, Thanks. I changed it to unassigned and I was able to reassign the extension.
Thanks to all who replied for the assistance on this.

I did find a reference where you stated, in the Multilinie Appearance Groups.
It says Member 1, Prime Directory Number 12, Key number 21, and Ring type, Ring, but all I see at the top are buttons that say Change, Change Page and Change All, so I'm not seeing a way to delete this.

Do I need to change it from "Single Line" to "unassigned" ?

I ran the LOCATE NUMBER command and it returns this:

The number refers to a Non Prime Broadcast Group.

I'm not certain what this group is. I looked in the Group Programming section and did not find the extension number in any of them. When I search the groups, it returns "GoTo Not Found."

We are using a vMCD and also have local Mitel 3300 controllers at each of our sites.  We had a hard drive issue at one of the sites so we replaced the drive and restored it from a backup. While the hard drive issue was present however, we had a user who stated he could not receive calls on his extension, calls were going straight to voicemail and the extension was not ringing.

I reset the phone and it came up with a different extension number. After restoring the local controller, I am trying to configure the handset back to the original extension it was using previously. When I do a search for the extension number in User and Services configuration, it returns "no records found"

If I try to add the extension by role and enter the extension number in the Services tab, I get a message that number is already in use.

I tried running the GDM CHECK USERANDSERVICE and GDM REPAIR USERANDSERVICE on both the vMCD and the local controller, but it comes back with 0 items needing repair.

Would appreciate some advice on how to resolve this "number in use" in order to put the phone back on the proper extension?

You will need to add the extension of the office undergoing the construction as a multicall button on the phone in the temporary office.

The base extension in the temporary office will need to be different from the base extension in the construction area.
Ok, Thanks for the explanation. I'll be at the site today so I'll get this setup for them.

Thanks again!

We have a situation wherein one of our office locations will be undergoing some construction. there will still be person at the front office for a little while in the mornings, but they wish to setup a temp office location where another person will be located as well. They basically want to have the office extension ring thru to another phone at the temp office.

When I login to the MiVoice Business System->Users and Devices->Users and Services configuration and enter the office extension, I see an option in the Keys section for multicall for the line type, but I'm not seeing where to enter the phone extension of the second phone to dial or call.

Can you please tell me where to add this second extension number in?

Yo have too choice.

- Delete mac adress from 5772 save then  send pin ***5387 + red or blue key ( *** you have to look in system option but im most case registration code is ***)

or

- delete mac adress from 5772 save , then put this mac address is 5387 and reboot phone.

I deleted teh MAC address on the 5772 handset and tried the 5837 PIN but it kept going back to the Send PIN message. I tried both *** and ### but it didn't work.

For now I went ahead and put the 5837 number on the 5772 5320 IP phone as a multiline number and I'll check to see if that will work good enough for the user. If not I'll do a little more research into this.
Thanks all for the assistance with this.

If I type the locate number 5837, it returns this:
"The number refers to a Non Prime Broadcast Group. "

This indicates that the extension number still exists in the database. It could be a hunt group, a key line, a multicall appearance etc. Look in the multiline set keys form for a start. It could even be a VM box that has not been deleted.

Using the set replacement key may be possible. Use the feature code + 5387 at the set you want to change (5772) and it should change the programming for you. There is also a swap command but I have never used it.

Ok, I'm not certain what the set replacement key is or what the feature code for it is. I'll look in the phone manual as it is a IP 5320 phone, I believe.

I found a reference on another forum wherein someone indicated I could possibly delete the MAC address on the 5772 phone in System Administration and then enter a new PIN number on the phone but I'm not certain if that will work to enter the 5837 extension. Guess I can try it and see if it works?

Ok, when I issue the GDM CHECK USERANDSERVICE from above, I get a long listing of output, so I'm truncating it here, but it basically seems to indicate there are no issues needing repair at this time?

"Checking for missing local hosted service ...
1000 records processed.
1228 records processed in total.
0 Hosted User Service records require to be repaired.
0 Hosted System Service records require to be repaired.

Checking Hosted System Service for missing local directory number or unknown host ...
8 records processed in total.
0 Hosted System Service records are invalid.

Checking Hosted User Service for missing local directory number or unknown host or invalid service type ...
820 records processed in total.
0 Hosted User Service records are invalid.
0 Hosted User Service records have invalid service type."

If I type the locate number 5837, it returns this:
"The number refers to a Non Prime Broadcast Group. "

If I type the locate feature extension number 5837 from above, it returns this:
"LOCATE: Non prime extension number.
Active Features :
Service Level: Full  "

So should I go ahead and delete the 5837 entry in Telephone Directory Management, or is there a way to change the physical extension in the room, 5772 to 5837?

Just wanted to let you know I did a search on the forum and didn't find quite the info I need. I'm a newby to the Mitel systems so I'm not exactly clear on where to navigate to accomplish this task.

Ok, here is the scenario. We have a user who has changed room's but the phone in her room has a different extension then what is listed as her name in the directory.  If I could find her original handset this would probably be as easy as moving her old handset to the other room, but alas it doesn't appear to be this simple.

When I log into the Mitel System, go to System Administration and do a search for her extension number, 5837, I get a message returned that says "no records found". If I call the extension it immediately goes to voicemail.

If I search for the number for the handset that is currently in her room, 5772, that record does show up, but it is associated to a different name.

Was hoping I could paste some screenshots here, but it appears I'm not able to.

If I click on User and Services Configuration-> Service Profile for the phone extension that is physically located in the room, 5772,  it appears as though I see box to change the number but if I try to change it to extension 5837, I get a message that states "Number is in use" and it has an exclamation mark next to the box, so I clicked on Cancel.

Ok, so going on, if I click on Telephone Directory Management->Telephone Directory, it appears I can change the fields on extension 5772 and change it to her name and extension number.

If I navigate to Advanced Configuration->User and Device Attributes it appears I can change it here as well.

I guess I'm not certain which location I should actually change this at, or if I am even in the correct location to change this? If I do change the extension and name association here, will the voicemail still follow or will I need to set that back up as well?

Introduction and Announcements / New Here
« on: December 01, 2017, 10:42:41 AM »
Hi All:
New to the forum. We've been using Mitel systems for a while now and we've been going through our local resale partner for a lot of the configuration but I am hoping to cut down expenses for this and hope to get into some of the configuration changes and programming myself. I'm sure I'll have a lot of basic questions at the start.
Have a good day, all!
