Chrome works for us, using callto links on our employee directory. The first time you click a "call to" link in Chrome, you get a pop up asking if it is ok to launch an application. Maybe needs to be launched as admin once to get this prompt?

We've also found having Skype installed can cause issues as it will take the "callto" link association back from UC.

the fix was disable sleep and ipv6 on those machines until a driver update comes out

Mitel Software Applications / CSM Conference Calls in Reporter
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:48:45 PM »
Is there to way to mark the [CONF] [Call Conference Device] extension as "External" in CSM?

We use CSM to generate call activity reports.

Currently, we filter it down to External calls only (we don't want station to station to count in talk time).

Conference calls talk time is not being credited as External. It is showing up as station to station.

Anyone know a workaround?

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: IP phones rebooted for unknown reason
« on: February 27, 2015, 04:01:09 PM »
we had a similar issue and the root cause was the switches.

We had some new lenovo machines that caused ipv6 broadcast storms when in sleep mode. https://communities.intel.com/message/225025

Fixing the network stopped the phone reboots.

Mitel Software Applications / Bria and UCA/MiCollab
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:48:58 PM »
I have Bria soft phone working with no problems for voice calls with 3300.

Is it possible to use Bria for chat with UCA/MiCollab? Has anyone done this?

Thank you!

Ive gotten a couple voicemails back for people using the call recording system. If you record internal calls, you may be able to find the recording of them dialing into and listening to the nupoint message.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: UCA - MiCollab - Click to Dial
« on: October 03, 2014, 04:51:05 PM »
The answer is yes and no. You can create callto links that invoke ucadialer.exe, but the current version isn't parsing this correctly and prefixes the number with 225586 unless the number is short (i.e. extension length used in uca setup).

Mitel is aware of this issue.

This is working again for us now that our LD carrier allows local calls with a 1+.

Just had to create an "ARS Digits Dialed" in MCD:

Digits Dialed: 8225586
Number of digits to follow: 10
Termination Type: Route
Termination Number: 15

This drops the prepended "callto/225586" digits and lets the call go out.

i ended up having this run on the CSM server itself.

Task scheduler>Create Task

General: under security options make sure you check off "Run whether user is logged on or not"

Trigger: At startup

Action: Start a Program           Details:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mitel Customer Service Manager\Reporter\Reporter.exe"

Everything else is default.

:o it is ridiculous for enterprise-level software to not run as a service.

Also, in case anyone could use this: Previously, i emailed reports with Auto-Reporter.  Now, I use Auto-Reporter to Publish all the reports to html files on a local IIS server every 15 minutes. it creates a nice index page and everyone can get reports on-demand, instead of waiting for a scheduled email. Went over big.

I've also been playing around with Lync. I think it would make a great UCA replacement, but i too have been unable to find any solid documentation on how to make it work.

It says this in the UCA 5.1 Admin guide under Optional Third-Party Integrated Applications:

Instant Messaging Clients: UC Advanced includes its own integrated chat component. It
also supports launching the following Instant Messaging clients when they are installed and
running on the user's computer:
• Windows Live Messenger 8.5, 2009, and 2011
• Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, 2007, and Lync 2010

Federation Servers: Federation provides a communication path between a single UC
Server and one or more external IM servers to provide UC Advanced users with presence
and chat features for external IM contacts (see page 29). UC Advanced supports IM and
presence federation with the following servers:
• Microsoft Office Communicator Server (OCS) 2007 R2
Microsoft Lync 2010 Server
• IBM Lotus Sametime® Server 7.0, 8.0.x, 8.5, 8.5.1, and 8.5.2 and Fix Packs

Mitel Software Applications / Re: UCA LDAP/AD Authentication
« on: May 01, 2013, 09:10:47 AM »
I have provisioned users manually in MCD, UCA, and nupoint up until now. I am interested in turning on LDAP/AD sync on all three, but am worried about the effect on existing users, as well. Would also love an answer on this.

i posted about the workaround i use to accomplish basic UM with hosted email here:

might work for you.

i just ran into this problem and ended up setting reporter.exe to run every day as a scheduled task in Windows.

This runs it as a service under SYSTEM user on the machine with the task. Havent had any problems so far as long as machine is powered on.

ok, I see where it all is going: it needs special installation/configuration on each user PC :(

Well, in my case there are not many users indeed but the solution does not scale and I cannot get anything extra as I would using API.
Anyway, I guess it's acceptable as a short term limited solution.  ::)
I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Your setup may be different, but for the sake of clarity, I do not have to touch the PCs. UCA is installed as part of our standard image (MDT/WDS/PXE), the callto links are programmed into our webapp, and the reg key gets pushed via GPO.

WOW! Looks good!

So, according to this we have to install ucadialer.exe on each user PC, right? And configure it properly for each user's post extension?
ucadialer.exe is part of the Unified Communicator Advanced install (at least on our system), so i don't have to do anything except install the UCA software and log the user in.

This has worked for us with all versions from 4.0 to 5.0.

Make sure and put the correct version number in your reg key. I just noticed i pasted the 4.1 version in my previous post.

Wow!  Cool info.   This may be worth setting up a special page just to explain this.
Can you tell us how to set up Chrome with the extension?

Ralph
It looks like Google has changed the process for creating extensions. Previously, i think i only had to change the file extension to .crx on a text file of the script, but that doesnt work now.

This one looks like it can provide the same functionality: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/skype-links/epbmllnadbdnppblcebkkmapkinkdchd
