Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Embedded voicemail answer point
« on: February 18, 2015, 12:22:14 PM »
Hello John P.,

Thank you for helping me.

I dialed the DID - 3000, and am prompted to pls. enter in your mailbox.

Dialing the hunt group number 7000 gives me the same prompt.

Is it because my test VM boxes are just 'message only'.  And don't terminate to an actual device?

Thanks again for spending some time on this.  Really appreciate it :)

Regards,

Hello,

Thank you so, so much for the prompt reply.

My apologies - yes, we're using 4 digits for our DIDs.

Setting the system speed calls -> Speed call number 3000 to actual number 7000

Gives me the embedded auto vm prompt 'please enter your mailbox number'.

I can * back to get the main day greeting, however.  Which is good enough for my testing :)

Out of curiosity and an opportunity to learn more - how do I enable the hunt group number to play the main day greeting on the embedded VM?

Thanks again.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Embedded voicemail answer point
« on: February 17, 2015, 06:38:34 PM »
Hello,

We're running a MCD 3300 Controller - Release Level 6.0SP3.  I have a basic question regarding trunks and the embedded voicemail.

How is the dial in answer point defined?  I would like to do some testing by assigning DID 3000 as the 'main line' for the embedded voicemail.  How is this done?

I have defined my voicemail ports:  Voicemail -> System Settings -> VM Ports -> 2001 thru 2030.

Hunt group has been built:  Users and Devices -> Group Programming -> Hunt groups -> 7000, Circular, priority 64, Voicemail hunt group type, members 2001 thru 2030

I have a test voicemail box in place:  Voicemail -> VM Mailboxes -> mailbox number 0 (operator), mailbox number 1 (test mailbox), mailbox number 9999 (administrator mailbox)

Call rerouting (always, first, second) assignments have been applied to the test mailbox -> routed to hunt group number.

I feel that I have most of the components in place, with the exception of how to set an answer point to direct callers to the VM system greeting and voicemail options (0, 1).

I'm pretty sure I need to define a trunk to associate an answer point for the embedded voicemail.  Just can't wrap my head around it.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

My apologies for bringing this topic back up.

The channel no longer exists on oftc network, it seems.

Is there 'nother network/channel for PBX/Mitel topics?

Thanks so much.

perhaps run -> logs read smdr all match <extensioninquestion> from the maintenance command line.

we have an avst voicemail system that also logs calls to associated mailboxes.  assuming the extension in question has a mailbox.  in this case, you may want to query your voicemail server for further logs.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.  You are correct, it turned out to be the Voice Mail -> System Settings -> VM Prompt Languages -> Enable Bilingual option.

I set this parameter to 'false' and was able to add voicemail box 8 :)

I did not need to reboot the 3300, thankfully.

Thanks again.

Dear Greater Mitel Intellect,

We are using the embedded voicemail on our MCD 5.0 controller.

Licenses -> License and Option Selection -> Licensed Options -> Messaging -> Embedded Voice Mail licenses = 9 locally allocated.

Voicemail -> VM Mailboxes -> Mailbox numbers = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9999.

When I try to add mailbox number 8, I get the message = "You cannot modify the Language Mailbox."

I did not change the 'Prompt Language' from w/n the mailbox.

Not sure why I'm getting this message.  The other mailboxes were programmed w/ no problems.

Pls. advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

Not sure what the log is referencing.  However, we may be able to determine the PLID location.

I would start w/ the st 1 1 11 2 command, to see the status and what device is referenced.

And from there you should be able to find it - dni, ons, ip phone, trunk, etc.

Hello,

From your diagram, it seems like you have your network/sites setup to get DHCP from the mitel controller already.

Assuming you are using routers to reach your remote location - and the links b/n sites are in the same subnet...it should just work.  As long as you setup your ACLs, static routes or routing protocol(s) correctly.

However, you can configure DHCP on your remote site router for the 'phone' network.

Regardless, I would strongly recommend you deploy QoS over the link - so the phones don't saturate it.  Although you only have 10 phones, and assuming dial tone all comes from the CO - voicemail, and other services can saturate the link under certain circumstances.

Hello,

We're you able to resolve your caller ID issue?

I am also struggling w/ a caller ID issue - caller ID substitution on a group of extensions.

However, to share some insight into what I've done so far:

We still have an NSU component on our 3300.  Terminaled into the NSU via IMAT software and programmed the CPN substitution setup.  We are outpulsing one number for 90% of our extensions and outpulsing another number for 10% of them.

From my understanding, whatever we outpulse - our CO will be able to match that number up w/ the associated caller ID information.  We had to get another directory listing from our CO to get this accomplished.  Still not working for us, but our CO is telling me to give it more time for the change to propagate across all systems.  Which doesn't make sense to me.

Hello,

We had a similar one way audible situation w/ our 3300 and remote IP sets.

Turned out to be ACLs in our Cisco router(s) were not allowing VOIP packets over the T1.

From my experiences, sounds like you hava routing problem.

Hello,

Actually, I found the embedded 3300 help files to be the most useful.

Call rerouting - 1st Alt. is where I direct my extensions to vmail.  Depending on how the COS is setup/timed - the end device should ring and ultimately use the call re. 1st alt. assignment upon busy/no answer.

On my controller - for call rerouting first alternatives, i have my 'first alternative number' assignment set to 'this' for all fields to my voicemail hunt group number.

In broad strokes, that's pretty much my config :)

******************************

Call rerouting second alternative assignment is where you want to direct calls upon a busy/no answer action from the call rerouting first alternative assignment.  i.e.  if extension 1000 is the 1st alt. assn. and does not answer, the 2nd alt. assn. would intercept the call.  timing between transfers is handled via the COS for the station.
