Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 3300 backups and maintenance commands
« on: November 27, 2012, 04:24:22 PM »
Enterprise Manager 7.0 allows you to setup Network schedules. So you can schedule a MCD backup and it will setup all the system backups for you. MCD(s) will then FTP the files to Enterprise Manager which acts as the FTP server. And it stores all the files for you. It can also do this for call records and MCD audit trails.

I think there was a patch that allowed this. Try calling Mitel Product Support and asking them.

I'm afraid any second hand Hardware cannot be sold with any licensing on it, as the owner of the hardware does not own the licences.
If Mitel find out that has happened they will delete the system from the AMC and it will not be able to be licensed again.

4
If some of your systems are running MCD 4.0 then you need Enterprise Manager 6.0 and the relevant OPS Manager release.

5
You could try the Multi-device User Group and licence.
This allows you to configure upto 8 different devices/numbers per User with only 1 licence.

Not quite the same but from MCD 5.0 you can try:

Locate ip_license device_only

That will give you the locked phones.

The other new locate ip_license commands in MCD 5.0 are:
summary
multi-device
pending user
trusted

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Config Wizard - Copy and Paste
« on: December 13, 2011, 11:05:10 AM »
Just a quick one that I found recently.
Using config wizard I used to hand type the names and numbers into the wizard,,,,, used to take a lot of time.

If you have the name and number information in an excel spreadsheet you can copy and paste it directly into the wizard.

- Copy the relevant data from excel
- Highlight the cell in the wizard you want to start the paste
- Press `ESC` and the cell turns blue
- Copy by pressing Cntrl V

Information is pasted into the Wizard.

I think it works at the Service Pack level. So MCD 5.0 SP1 would be the first version of software that could make use of the Unattended upgrades.

You can also configure the system to alert an attendant or IP phone when someone makes an Emergency call. It is called Emergency Services Local Notification.

MCD 5.0 will introduce a new `Multi-device User` license. This will license the Multi-device Group and you can fill the group up with up to 8 devices or numbers without licensing them separately. The new group works very similar to Personal ring groups (Dynamic Extension) but you have one busy all busy set (incoming and outgoing).
So, one User, one licence and up to 8 different devices or numbers all ringing at the same time.

Enterprise Manager would deliver the single pane of glass access to the network. But it might be a bit much for a small 4 node network.
Have you configured the systems to use a single Administration Group and SDS? You can use Admin Groups to have single login around all the nodes and it allows you to see forms on any system without moving to different windows. It also shows you the Alarm status of the network etc and SDS should ensure a lot of the system data only needs to be changed in one place.

MCD 5.0 has a uni-directional AD link. Add the User to AD and they will appear in MCD.

It is fairly simple.
You cannot add old MCD User/device licences to the new MCD Base packages.
The old Base packages still have the limitations on for the original old licences, but not for the new Enterprise or Standard User licences.
