Introduction and Announcements / Well after 28 years...

its time to throw in the towel. We are closing the business whilst we are still ahead as it is getting more and more difficult for small firms like ours to get work. Mitel have made it difficult to trade and are going in a way that seems to be cloud and we are not really in to that.

If you don't mind I will hang around for a while but I realise I am falling further and further behind on the Mitel trail and will only help where I can.

As topic. Could this be a misconfig by user? Like set voicemail but no voice mail available? or maybe DND or something like?

Anyone any ideas. Has to be a site visit because we have no remote access but need to sort it tomorrow.

Any ideas where to look appreciated.

Believe it or not never done this and just want to check.

Customer has main i/c number on multicalls with backups on delayed ring.

Now they want it to go to reception and then auto attendant. So i assume that deleteing the multicalls and using first alternative of answer point to main number of VM group will work to get to the AA.

sorry for basic question but I just need a sanity check....

Hi, quicky if anyone has the answer.

3300 MCD 8.0 have a phone showing 'make busy' on the display but don't have any acd agents or any acd programming on the system. How can I clear this? will agent log out work?

all help appreciated.

Just upgraded a CX11 to MCD 8 and now I can't access with IE 11. It pops up a box with use 10 or 11 without adding to compatibility mode list. Now it was in there but I have taken it out of the list and shut down IE11 but it still keeps popping the rror up....nay ideas? Firefox works OK.

as per title I have got a warning about this in system logs (continually. There is no domain name entered and I honestly can't ever remember adding one in any system I have done. However I keep getting the warning. Why should I need it ? Can I just use the local domain name or do I need a FQDN?

Hi Guys a bit of help please. I am being asked to do a wireshark trace to find the answer to a SIP trunk problem. Basic is that transferred calls cut off after 10.04 minutes on a very regular basis. I think its the RTP failing but can't find out why. My second line support is just as flumoxed. SP is asking for the wireshark trace because it contains media (RTP) packets.

So the question is believe it or not never needed to do this before how would I set this up on a CX? I don't really get involved in the IT on this site but I suspect that the IT guys are going to want hand holding. I would like to know how to port mirror  a CX (I assume this would have to be done on the switch its connected to?) and what to do if its a dumb switch?

Also I don't have wireshark is there something else that would do the job assuming that I am correct that the Mitel doesn't do any trace that contains RTP?

Mitel 3300 CX on release MCD 5.0 using embedded voice mail

Simple auto attendant which is working fine except that one of the prompts has changed in the person who owns the phone. Nothing else changed. Customer says they have changed the greeting and the name on the phone BUT when the transfer takes place the previous  name is still given out.

I am right that the system announcement that says "you are being transferred to" picks up the name from the phone?

If not anyone know where it is in the voicemail setup?

If its picked up from the phone any hints on how to make it find the new name?

Been a long time since I did a softphone on a 3300 so a little help guys. Customer has a MBG (quite old but still works fine. Now wants an iPhone added. Is there a anyway to do it without using UCA (or whatever its called today)?

Or have I got to get UCA and its attendant cost to get the iPhone on to the system?

Quick and easy one..I hope.

Set up auto attendant some years ago and now they want to change some names on the target extensions (No MLAA). So I have had them change the name on the associated extension which they say they have done but when yo press(as in thsi case) 2 the AAU returns the original name instead of the new name on the extension.

What am I missing? I thought that the name for the AA was picked up from the name on the extension at transfer.

Is there a way to send an unanswered call to VM from a multicall line when only the prime is busy? Can I set the prime to have a VM and then a 1st alternative to VM?

Alternatively can I set a ring group to ring all and overflow the RG to VM (I assume the pilot would need to have the VM setup for the group)?

Or is there a more elegant way to do this that I haven't thought of.

Note the early release of software. Can't take it above 9.0 because chance of customer upgrading just for this is <0

DDI call set to ring a group with ring all,  all works fine. Customer reports that the ring cadence is single ring as an internal call. Here in the UK we expect a ring ring for an external call. Is there any way of making that ring group cadence external rather than internal?

Odd one. Have a 5304 that is registered to a MCD 7.1 quite happily when on the network but when we try to teleworker it it it won't upgrade the firmware. Now the MBG is quite old (read very) at 5.2 and I wonder if this is the problem. I know in the later versions of MBG the firmware is fetched from the ICP but am I right in thinking that the early ones the firmware was actually on the MBG? And is that the problem? (NO SWA)

Is there any way of forcing the 5304 to get an early firmware load and then download what it needs from the MBG? Can I setup a TFTP server and get the 5304 to load firmware from that or is it a lost cause because the firmware on it is 06 and too new to downgrade? Does MBG 5.2 know about 5304?
