Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Waiting for ACK....
« on: October 03, 2018, 11:42:20 AM »
Yesterday in the middle of the day...all of our phones in one location dropped and displayed "Waiting for Ack..."  We using 3300 and 5330 phone

In the logs I see: Heartbeat Server - ICP lost contact with xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx , network driver cluster pool free: 6068 and low water mark: 5961

I rebooted the system and the phones came back.  If I look at the phone inventory I now see In Service
Registration Reason  Set Error: ACK expiry .  We don't have anything special setup...no MBG or anything like that.

Any ideas what the issue here is and what caused the waiting for ACK?  I was thinking originally a DHCP issue, but not sure.

Thanks for the help!  I did a search but it didn't really apply to our setup.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / DSP Alarm...no voicemail
« on: September 04, 2018, 09:25:11 AM »
I have a 3300 where the embedded voicemail is not working.

Looking at Alarms I have DSP failure - major 4 total, 25% unavailable.

If run SHOWDSPSTATUS I get the following:
Slot Number 6 Dsp 0 State: IDLE
Slot Number 6 Dsp 1 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 6 Dsp 2 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 6 Dsp 3 State: ACTIVE

Also ran DumpDspBootInfo:

DumpDspBootInfo
Dsp(0,0): mmcSlot=7 (1-based) Load Type: TELEEC(6,"/sysro/DspConfig/TeleEC.363")
      Mod Type: NOCONFERENCE(1)
Dsp(0,1): mmcSlot=7 (1-based) Load Type: TELEEC(6,"/sysro/DspConfig/TeleEC.363")
      Mod Type: NOCONFERENCE(1)
Dsp(0,2): mmcSlot=7 (1-based) Load Type: TELEEC(6,"/sysro/DspConfig/TeleEC.363")
      Mod Type: NOCONFERENCE(1)
Dsp(0,3): mmcSlot=7 (1-based) Load Type: TELEEC(6,"/sysro/DspConfig/TeleEC.363")
      Mod Type: NOVOICEMAIL(7)
value = 29 = 0x1d

Any thoughts?  Is this a hardware failure?  Or the DSP just hung up.  Would a system reboot fix this issue?

I did try using putty to start and stop the iPVM service, but didn't seem to help I got some numbers back as result:

iPVM_Stop: value = 1610612736 = 0x60000000
iPVM_Start : value = 1611137024 = 0x60080000

Thanks for the help!

On a side note:  What's the lifespan of a 3300 and it's modules?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Clocking errors
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:07:47 AM »
We have been having some voice quality issues and connection issues on some of our 3300's.  If placing a call sometimes they caller will have to dial 3 times for the call to go through.

We've reached out to our provider and they come back everytime and say they see clocking errors and timing slips all day.

We I run the command DTSTAT READ 3 1 2 1 last 24 I sometimes see  a few framing losses throughout our day....is this what they are speaking of?  And how do I fix?  Do I just need to set Network sync to one of our PLIDs?  I see that form is blank, and I seem to remember something like this a while back.

Thanks for your help!

We use MiCollab  solely for the Unified Communicator advance feature.  We don't do anything special other than use the client to dial numbers by copy and paste.
We synch the server with AD to import our users.

Recently we noticed new users are not coming into the system, but AD is synching.  I can change a user in AD and their Micollab account will update.  We just cannot get any new users into the system.

Any thoughts what this could be?

We have a office that is complaining of dropped calls and some other issues. We are using 3303s with PRIs
Provider is saying no issues on PRIs.

I ran a edt trace tsp l2l3 PLID and see a few entries with "Temporary Failures"  I don't have called numbers and times to match up with logs.

Could someone help out and let me know what these entries mean?  Where can I go from here to troubleshoot?

I also see this in the logs:

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Not Seizable channels
« on: May 14, 2018, 10:32:09 AM »
What would cause the error "not seizable" on one of our PRIs?  We had this issue last week as well, but last time 12 channels were not seizable.

Thanks for the help!

This is the craziest thing I've seen since using Mitel for the last 10 years.

We have a phone (5300) on our ICP 3300 that cannot hear anything or be heard.  Gets a dial tone, but not voice incoming or outgoing.  You can hear a bit of noise.  Sometimes you can hear the first second or two of voice then craps out.  It's been work fine for months, then yesterday at about 4pm or so is stopped working.

However, the rollover extension (same as prime extension), setup as a key appearance works just fine.

We've tried new devices, new cables, handsets, new port on switch, etc.  We even removed the phone from the system, and recreated and still nothing.

What could be the issue here?  We need to get this working.  Currently we have this employees extension forwarded to a different phone in the meantime, but that will not be good solution for too long.

Thanks for the help!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 911 Address update - Urgent
« on: March 26, 2018, 02:43:26 PM »
I urgently need to get this resolved...

We had an office move locations this weekend, and they moved into a new calling rate area.  We were informed that we now have a new DID for the purpose of 911 and display the correct address on their side.

It was mentioned that we need to program our PBX with this new DID.  I am not exactly sure where this needs to be done.

I did a bit of research and I am thinking this needs to be updated on the CPN Substitution form.  Is this correct?

If not can you point me in the right direction.

Thanks

-Evan

We are having issues calling a specific number from one of our 3300's.  When we dial the number we get a message "sorry call cant be completed from payphone".

We heard back from our carrier and they are saying..."underlying carrier advised the call is being sent with the Originating Line Information(OLIP)          [ATT: 36] 70 (Private Paystation), which is what is identifying the calls as coming from a payphone. You will want to have your PBX vendor check the CPE and correct the setting."

Any idea where I can make this change so we can get these calls to go through.

It's not the most critical situation, but I think it would resolve a few other toll free number issues we have.

Thanks for the help, I've searched the Google and forums, but cannot find anything.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Voice quality degraded
« on: May 11, 2017, 03:01:47 PM »
I have a 3300 in one of our office that has sporadic voice quality issues.  Our employee has trouble hearing the other end, the voice becomes digitized.  It was described as robotic.

Contacted the provider for our PRI and they said they see slips on the PBX.  I scheduled a reboot, and they are still having the issue.

If I run a dtstat on PRI I see no timing slips (see below)

Any thoughts what could be going on here?
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Evan

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Test Email Alerts
« on: May 03, 2017, 11:26:09 AM »
Is there any way to test alerts via email?  I am not receiving email alerts anymore, and the settings look correct on 3300.
Can the 3300 use hostnames in the smtp settings or does it have to be IP?  I do have the DNS server set in IP settings as well.

I made some changes to our email system, but now I need to test.

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Local Presence
« on: August 04, 2016, 04:45:34 PM »
We are looking to have our caller ID display a local phone number (which we already own) in the same area code as the number we are calling.  This is called “Local Presence”.

We can do it using our predictive dialer, but does anybody know of a way to achieve this using a Mitel 3300, using 5330 IP phones?

For example, if my number has a 516 area code, but I’m dialing into the 212 area code, we would like the number on the recipient’s caller ID to display a 212 number (not my 516), which we already own.

Thanks for the info

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Hunt Group Options need suggestions
« on: June 04, 2016, 10:47:56 AM »
Using 3300

We have a small sales group that needs to be part of a Ring Group, Hunt Group or something similar.  We want all the members of the group to have an equal chance of answering a customer call.  Whether all the members ring at once or round robin.

Additionally this group pilot number is a DID that also needs to have access to a DISA line so we can forward the number to a mobile number during off business hours remotely.

At this point we have setup a hunt group and the DISA line with security code. This setup works to some extent, however the hunt group does not do what we thought it would.  If the first member does not answer, we want it to roll over to the next available member.

So I changed the pilot number from a hunt group to a ring group.  However it appears that a ring group cannot be forwarded via the DISA.

The then thought to set the hunt group always alternate to the ring group, but that doesn't work.

I thought about putting a ring group in the hunt group, but that is not allowed.

We have now reverted back to the hunt group and removed all other attempts.

Any thoughts on what we can do here to get this to work?

Thanks

-Evan

Due to Mitel's inability to do anything right our phone system was compromised last week.

Turns out when Mitel setup our system in one of our offices, they left the administrator mailbox password as default.  So over one night hundreds of calls were made through our system to all sorts of countries.

Apparently by dialing into our system, after hours you get the auto attendant.  Press * to enter your  mailbox.  By going into the administrator mailbox they were able to change it's extension, to redirect to some system to make calls through.

Not only did they make calls but they deleted all mailboxes.  I guess they created a fresh/new install of the voicemail system.

Very irritating.

So...make sure you all change your administrator mailbox passwords!

Any other suggestions to lock down the system?

Thanks

I am trying to find the best way to get multiple phones in our organization to ring when someone calls into a certain DID.
I figured using a ring group would be the best solution.

We are looking to setup our ring group on the NY 3300, but would like to include extensions from other nodes in the cluster.  When I do so, I receive an error "extension not compatible".

It appears this is not possible, but was wondering if I am missing some sort of programming.

Any other thoughts how we can accomplish this?

Thanks
