Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab IDS Authentication
« on: May 09, 2016, 12:19:07 AM »
Has anyone had any success in configuring authentication when using IDS on MiCollab?

It seems that the documentation is incomplete, and doesn't explain what is required from the LDAP/AD side of things in order for SSL or TLS authentication to work. You cannot leave it unsecured when authentication is enabled.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Inbound Trunk call processing
« on: February 23, 2016, 07:08:09 PM »
Does anyone know the order that a SIP trunk processes the stripping of digits on an inbound call for the called party? ie, does trunk attributes get applied, then inward dialling mod, or other way round?

Have many out there been using the new MiVoice Business Console? Found any issues or had any experiences with particular headsets, or any bugs with the software?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MCD in front of another system
« on: December 15, 2014, 04:25:29 PM »
Just trying to figure out the best way to have a MCD in front of another system (in this case Cisco) connected via a SIP trunk.

The problem comes in that unless the SIP Peer Profile Assignment by Incoming DID form is populated then the MCD will just return a 404 not found. So if a user of the system sitting behind the MCD tries to dial out to the PSTN by going via the MCD, then basically all possible PSTN numbers must be allowed for in that form against that SIP Peer Profile.

Surely there must be a way around this, or a better way to do it that I just can't think of?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / UC 360 URI Dialing
« on: October 20, 2014, 05:58:20 PM »
Has anyone managed to configure MBG to allow for URI dialing from a UC360 that is inside of the corporate network?

The documentation for the MBG side seems to be non existent, and on the UC360 side it just says that you need to configure a URI dialing proxy on the device that points to your proxy/SBC.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / CFA being sent out the wrong trunk
« on: March 07, 2014, 12:35:15 AM »
Have got a situation where a call comes in on one public trunk (in this instance SIP), to a users phone who has a CFA set to go out to an external number. All of this is normal so far. THe problem is that the system has a second set of public trunks on them, ISDN, and the call is going out via that instead of the originating trunk. This causes the call to appear as though it is coming from the wrong location (two sites, same company, but different number ranges).

The ISDN and the SIP trunks, as well as the extensions themselves have been separated out to different tenant groups, and users are blocked from calling out the wrong trunk by interconnects. So it leaves me pondering why the call is able to go out on the non originating trunk.

Has anyone come across something like this before?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Ascom definition files
« on: November 03, 2013, 05:52:08 PM »
Does anyone have a copy of a definition file for an Ascom i62 handset?

Already have WinPDM installed but can't do anything with the handset without the definition file it seems, and no matter how much i've searched i'm unable to find one!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 5550 Not Ringing
« on: October 30, 2013, 10:17:31 PM »
I've got a 5550 that for reasons that are unknown completely just decides to stop ringing at times. It may work for hours or days, then suddenly stop. The calls are still presented to the queue and the operator can answer them, but the keypad itself just doesn't ring.

Rebooting the keypad or the PC may or may not fix things. Generally it doesn't fix it.
One fix was to unplug the headset then reboot the keypad, another was to push the mute key on the keypad. One fix might work once, but not the next time, and it might fix it for an hour, two, half a day, or even a day, but nothing permanent.
When it stops ringing it can just happen out of the blue. One call can come in it rings and is answered and then the next doesn't ring. No reason it seems.

The system is running mcd 6 sp1, various versions of 5550 software has been tried.
PC and console are on separate vlan's (and seperate cables) with routing in between, and nothing stopping traffic either way. PC has had AV disabled, firewall disabled, java updated, etc, all to rule things out.

Anyone seen anything similar before?

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas around a problem that I've hit.
Currently there is a system that has all incoming and outgoing via ISDN. They are now adding in a second site off of the one controller, with a new number range, but that is being delivered over a SIP trunk.
Now, the two sites will be tenanted, but I am struggling with an idea as to how to split ARS out so that site 1 uses the ISDN for outbound, and site 2 uses SIP for outbound.

The problem is that you can't tenant the SIP trunk, so my only idea is that you block access to the ISDN trunks for tenant 2, and then use an ARS list to have ISDN first, and then SIP second. This in theory would allow tenant 1 to access ISDN, and then tenant 2 would get blocked on the first list option, and fail to the second. Any ideas if this will work, or anyone experienced this and have any other suggestions?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 5550 One way audio sometimes
« on: August 20, 2013, 01:59:36 AM »
Got a bit of a strange one where a 5550 console is at a remote site, and if you ring it from another site you get one way audio. If the user of the console rings you from the remote site, then the audio is two ways and everything is fine.
There are a stack of other phones in the same subnet as the 5550 and they all work no matter which way the voice traffic.
The 5550 can be dialed, and can dial within its own site fine (ie same subnet).
Both the phones and the 5550 have the same default gateway, subnet mask, etc.
The keypad can be pinged from anywhere else in the network with no issues.
There are no firewalls, ACL's, etc in between, just straight routing.

Scratching the head, as obviously the RTP (and signalling for that matter) stream works as if the console calls anyone else there isn't an issue, just an issue when someone else calls it.

Any other suggestions for where else things could be a miss? I'm starting to leave marks on my head from scratching it too much.

Mitel Software Applications / UCA unable to dial
« on: August 11, 2013, 07:35:32 PM »
Got an odd one that I've been round and round in circles with a few times, and just cannot seem to find the cause. I think it is something in COS, but not 100% sure on it.

The error is that when a user tries to dial from UCA, they get a call cannot be completed error on the client.
The server logs show:
SetAutoAnswer command for DN xxxx failed. Reason: SXERR_FEATURE_NOT_ALLOWED

MakeCall command for DN xxxx failed. Reason: No Free Lines available.

As far as the first error goes, it is a COS error, but the odd thing is that auto answer is enabled for the COS of the handset.
For the second error, I can't seem to find the cause. It doesn't seem to matter which COS is being used, and have tried multiple handsets (eg. physical mitel 5330, soft phone, EHDU, etc) all with the same failure. At the time that it's been tested there are no other calls up on the system, or on the handsets itself, so I'm sure that there are lines available!

All other functions of the client work fine, and the system is running latest build of UCA 6.

Has anyone else come across this before?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Ring Group Overflow
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:30:40 PM »
Got a little bit of an odd one that is puzzling. There is a ring group that, if unanswered needs to go to voicemail. The problem is that it is ending up in the voicemail system, but not a mailbox.

The scenario is. RG on NA goes to an ACD path (that is empty) which interflows to a single line key (that has a permanent divert to vm).
If you ring the ACD path (which overflows to the key), or the single line key, you go to the mailbox and you can leave a message. If you ring the Ring group, which then goes NA to the ACD path, then to the key, you just end up in the voicemail system.

Has anyone come across this sort of issue before? Usually the ACD path interflowing resolves these sorts of issues, but it seems that the Ring Group is marking the call with an incorrect number, and the ACD path, etc is passing that number through the system.

Mitel Software Applications / UCA AD User sync
« on: March 17, 2013, 09:00:25 PM »
Got a little bit of a strange one, and not sure if it is caused by UCA 5.1, or if it has always been the case.

Have got users that are imported in to UCA via AD sync, and all of their numbers come in as well as they should.
However for some reason their mobile numbers are not automatically published. Has anyone come across a way to make sure that upon initial sync/creation that the mobile number is published and not left up to the user to go in and manually set it to published?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / SIP trunking with Alcatel
« on: December 05, 2012, 01:02:57 AM »
Has anyone managed to get a SIP trunk working between a 3300 and an alcatel before? The 3300 is running MCD 5.

I have got the trunk established, and can call from the Mitel to the alcatel without any issues, two way voice is fine.
Coming from the alcatel to the mitel, the mitel phone rings, but there is no audio either way.

From a wireshark trace it seems that the RTP stream never actually tries to establish.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MBG as SIP Proxy
« on: October 22, 2012, 12:03:06 AM »
Has anyone used an MBG instance as a SIP proxy before? Eg. mid-call features, etc.

In the past I've had it running, and all has been ok, but for some reason it now seems that as soon as you point the 3300 to the MBG instance for it's SIP proxy, calls fail.
A tcpdump on the MBG server shows that the call comes back with a 404 response. The trunk registers ok, and I can't spot any difference between a tcpdump from the 3300 going directly out and the MBG in the middle as the proxy.

The end result is as below when you capture on the MBG:
|Time     | 192.168.xx.x                         |
|         |                   | 192.168.x.x     |
|8.167    |         INVITE SDP (g729 g711A g711U L16RTPType-121 te...hone-eventRT)          |SIP From: "X" <sip:xxxxx@provider To:<sip:yyy@provider
|         |(5060)   ------------------>  (5060)   |
|8.168    |         100 Trying|                   |SIP Status
|         |(5060)   <------------------  (5060)   |
|8.169    |         404 Not Found                 |SIP Status
|         |(5060)   <------------------  (5060)   |
|8.185    |         ACK       |                   |SIP Request
|         |(5060)   ------------------>  (5060)   |

It is quite odd as the trunk registers ok, and everything appears normal, but the 404 is returned upon dialing.

I'm banging my head against the wall, and just thought that others out there might be able to change my direction of troubleshooting, as I've been looking at it too much and now seem to have tunnel vision on the problem!
