Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Calls getting stuck on hold
« on: June 06, 2018, 01:18:39 AM »
I've been working at this one for a while with Mitel support to no avail, not sure if anybody's had something similar. Users at a specific site (running over an ADSL / PPPoE connection) have issues when transferring calls, or retrieving them from hold. This site is able to route directly to the MiVB and SIP server so no teleworker in use currently.

If they attempt to transfer a call, then press 'Back to Held' to return to the call, the caller will remain stuck on hold even though the call appears active on their screen. They then cannot reconnect to the call at all, however the call will end if they hang up the handset.

A similar thing will happen if they go through with the transfer by pressing the 'Transfer' button on their phone, except the call just gets stuck on the destination phone instead. If they process the transfer by hanging up the handset instead of pressing 'Transfer', the call will go through successfully and the destination phone is connected to the caller.

The call will get stuck even if they put it on hold and then attempt to take it off hold normally.

The above issues all occur 90% of the time, however it sometimes will work.

This issue only seems to occur over PPPoE connections, so I'm wondering if it may be MTU related due to the extra overhead on packets. Is there a way to reduce the MTU on the Mitel handsets themselves?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody knows of a way to get a Mitel system (MiVB and MiCollab) to somehow match an incoming caller ID number and display a corresponding name for the caller on the sets or MiCollab client?

This is for incoming calls via a SIP trunk.

I've tried adding a contact to the phone with the caller number, but it doesn't display the name on the screen when that number calls.

Thanks.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Distributing calls between ring groups
« on: February 19, 2018, 02:43:57 AM »
I've had an interesting request from a client and I'm not quite sure how to configure this in their Mitel system, hoping somebody can help:
- Client has 4 groups / teams
- They want the incoming calls to be distributed to each team in a circular fashion
- If the team does not answer in time, the call should move on to the next team

I've had a go at configuring this, however MiVB doesn't allow you to add a ring group into a hunt group, or add a ring group into a ring group, or add a multicall line into a ring group.

As an added bonus, they're on a very old version which doesn't have circular cascade ring groups yet, so if the solution doesn't require this then even better.

Any ideas on how to configure this?

Thanks.

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab not changing Group Presence
« on: October 19, 2017, 10:45:03 PM »
MiCollab noob here, just stumbling my way through this setup so any help would be appreciated.

I've got all of my users set up through MiCollab OK and have tried adding a couple of phones for each user (desk phone and softphone).

Regardless of what I set in the 'status' options on the MiCollab client (eg. send to Desk Phone / sent to SoftPhone) it always rings all phones in their MDUG.

Should MiCollab be changing the Group Presence states for each phone in the MDUG when a status is selected? Why wouldn't this be happening?

Currently they are all set to 'Present' at all times. I have enabled the Group Presence options in CoS for all phones in the MDUG.

Thanks!
