I recently changed a controller IP address.
Since then, reach-through from the MiCollab server no longer works to this particular controller.
I have re-addressed controllers before without getting this issue.
Does anybody have a check-list of things that need to be done for reach-through to work?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab Client v8
« on: July 19, 2018, 08:58:36 PM »
v7 was very intuitive and functional.
With v8 I can't even figure out how to transfer a call, let alone conference somebody in.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 6900 handset display
« on: June 14, 2018, 07:20:29 PM »
If you look on this link which describes the handset branding and HTML, there are some pictures of 6900 phones with what appears to be a status displayed - "Gone fishing".
http://edocs.mitel.com/UG/Apps-Solutions/MiCollab%208.0/MiCollab/MiCW%20Help/forms/phone_applications_update.html

Any idea how this space is used? It is blank on my phones and I don't know how to access this part of the phone display...

Users can add in their own contacts via their MiCollab client, but I was wondering what would be the best strategy if I wanted to add some contacts so they can be globally available to all the MiCollab users.
For example, the Helpdesk for the videoconferencing suites is an external number and it would be good to have that globally available to everybody in MiCollab.

I guess I could create a MiCollab "user" whose number is a speed dial to that external number, but I just wanted to see if anybody has come up with better ideas for doing this?

I have a controller with hot-desk users in multiple time zones.

The users in Zone 6 are a couple of hours behind the Controller in Zone 1. The users and their handsets are all configured to be in Zone 6. The handsets display the correct time.
The Call History, on the other hand, is displaying all their missed calls in Zone 1 time instead of Zone 6 time.

Is this normal, or can I fix it by configuring something somewhere?

Has anybody had this issue and figured out how to fix it?

STATE EXTENSION 21067
Hot Desk : 21067 Currently not logged in
Location | Device | State | Owner | ID |Status
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 3 19 27 1| Superset 5020 IP |Releasing |Call Proc|6 10EB|Wait
1 3 19 27 2| Unassigned |Not applicable | | |
1 3 19 27 2| Alternate Codec |Idle | | |

It's just stuck as "Releasing", Busy Reset on the extension or Busy on the Extension or PLID don't change the state of it.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 6930 - new MAC address prefix
« on: February 05, 2018, 12:55:30 AM »
Got a funny one today - a 6930 with the MAC prefix 00:08:5D
This MAC isn't on my list as a MAC owned by Mitel, but I did a lookup and it apparently belongs to Aastra.
Mitel merged Aastra into Mitel a couple of years ago, so now they appear to be using Aastra MACs.

This might be relevant to some people who might use the MACs to identify the vendor....

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Calls "randomly going on hold"
« on: December 18, 2017, 11:36:57 PM »
Is there some kind of a trace I can run during one of these calls that will give me some clues as to why it is going on hold?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab Client Desktop Conferencing limits?
« on: November 23, 2017, 11:07:29 PM »
How many participants has anybody seen in a MiCollab Client collaboration session that involves desktop sharing?

I've seen about 12, and I imagine you could safely get plenty more than that, but I was wondering what other people had actually seen.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Assigning licences in AMC error
« on: September 08, 2017, 11:29:52 PM »
I have two customers
 - on v7 MCD and v6 MiCollab
 - on v8 MCD and v7.3 MiCollab

On the former I'm trying to assign UCCv3 licences, and on the latter UCCv4 licences, that they have bought.

No matter whether I try assigning to the ULM, DLM, MCD or MiCollab, I get this error for both customers:

"...FAILED DUE TO - Assignment Error - This product is missing a required base product component that must be attached to this application record first."

Any idea what is going on here?

I'm trying to give somebody the instructions to add a new controller to their existing cluster.
I've checked the Tech Handbook and the Engineering Guidelines. I know the GiG isn't worth checking and so I'm not sure where to find the doco for clustering procedures.
Any ideas?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Shutting down an MXe3300 to move it
« on: September 08, 2017, 03:52:06 AM »
Should I gracefully shut down the controller to move it, or just pull the plug on it?

I have a strange feeling if I gracefully shut it down I have to do something special to bring it back up...?

I have a cluster.
My handsets and extensions are resilient to a second controller.
I have a site that had a network outage on their primary link and the failover took long enough for the phones to decide to failover to their secondary controller.

How do I now fail back individual extensions from their resilient controller? HST CANCEL HANDOFF does nothing.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Including Line Keys in Pickup Group?
« on: August 14, 2017, 12:40:56 AM »
I don't know if I'm missing something here...

If I have a group of users in the same Pickup Group, and one of those users has an additional line key on her handset....the line key isn't in the Pickup Group.

What is the easiest way to make that number answerable by the other two users?

When you dial in to NuPoint and press *, it asks you what mailbox you want.
At this point it asks you to record a message for that mailbox.
I see no purpose whatsoever for that option. I mean - seriously - who on earth is going to ring the voicemail system to get to somebody's *mailbox* to leave a message? It makes no sense at all.

The reason it is a problem is that every single person who wants to 3rd-party administer a voice mailbox (despite my clear written instructions that they have to press "*" a second time) logs a support ticket asking me why it tries to record a message instead of giving them the menu.
Is there any way of disabling that record a message option?
