Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / define tenant for micollab vm box
« on: June 01, 2023, 09:54:32 AM »
Hi folks,
I'm at a loss here... I have several tenants, specifically for the purpose of having separate night mode times per building. Each tenant controls their own.
Really, all the night mode affects is where the main numbers are routed to. I can see all the "numbers" (phones, and micollab boxes/call flows), and route them based on night mode.

What I can't figure out is how to place a given micollab box or call flow into a specific tenant! (Clearly these are set somewhere, but there's one that is in the wrong tenant.)

The only way I've known to define tenancy is in the user and device configuration form in MCD, but since a micollab box isn't a device, it's not there.

Ideas?
Thanks!

Hi folks.
I searched the forums and haven't found a similar thread to what I'm looking for.

We are using 3300's and a MAS/NuPoint server, on-site. No SIP, just a couple PRI's.

What I'm looking to do is forward an inbound caller's callerid to an outside vendor. The way we're doing the forward is
a > customer calls us at a specific DID > this ring a ring group with an overflow to extension [say] 751*
751* is a system speed call to the outside vendor, e.g. 751* > #9713214567

The vendor does get the calls, but shows the main number of our store (as if we placed it within.) We'd like to pass the original caller's CallerID to the vendor. We can see the caller's ID on our phones, but it just doesn't get passed on to the forwarded destination.

One caveat is that we only want this for a few specific forwards, but not the whole trunk.

Thanks in advance!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / hold music while ringing?
« on: August 25, 2022, 05:39:41 PM »
Hi folks -
I haven't been able to find how to do this or if it is even possible...
Isn't there a way to have hold music playing instead of ring sounds when a ring group (or individual) is being called?

Thanks in advance,

Hi folks,
I have a user that insists that he wants the caller to hear his phone ringing before it goes to voice mail, despite that he won't ever answer it. While I could just leave this phone plugged in somewhere in a closet, I'm wondering if there's a clever way to program it so it appears to ring even if the phone isn't physically plugged in. Something like forcing the extension to be present when it isn't.
This is on a 3300 + NuPoint/MAS.

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / park recall target
« on: February 07, 2022, 11:24:04 AM »
Hi folks.
I have a couple departments with all phones in a park group. When someone answers the ring group, group-parks the call, it eventually recalls to the original parker. Is there a way to have it recall to a/the ring group (or other target?).

Thanks,

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 6940 programmable keys
« on: July 26, 2021, 03:54:27 PM »
Hi folks,
I'm pretty new to 6940 phones. Having some trouble with configuration. The users want to be able to program some keys for one-touch dials. I found this setting in COS - General - Miscellaneous - Enable Device Configuration.

The description shows the following -

For 69xx IP phones, enter 0 to disable Language, Voicemail, Call Forward, Voice Services, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Reset settings in the Settings menu. This also disables the long key press functionality. Or, enter the length of time (range 1 to 5 seconds) for which a programmable key (PK) must be held down to launch the key programming application.

Setting this field to 3 does indeed allow soft key programming, but also at the same time allows all the other settings mentioned above.
I'm not so sure I want the users to have all that - just the soft key programming. (Especially not bluetooth.)

Is there not a way to only enable the long key press soft key programming, but disable the other items?

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / dumb questions about 69xx BT/DECT
« on: May 26, 2021, 11:52:33 AM »
Hi folks.
I've been playing with some 69xx phones to figure them out. I have some dumb questions regarding BT and DECT.
My understanding is that the included handset with a 6940 is BT. Is that right?
Also, from what I can gather from Mitel's site, the headsets are DECT, is that right?
(why they would go with BT on the handset if it has DECT capability is beyond me...)

In the COS settings page, I see Integrated DECT High Power and Integrated DECT Wideband. Is is safe to assume these options only apply to the headsets, then?

I've just noticed the BT handsets are really kinda lame compared to the 53xx DECT handsets, so I'm looking for any way to improve this. Presumably there could be lots if interference around, with other 69xx, and customer cell phone bt stuff...

Thanks!

Hi folks.
We have a muti-tenant setup here that has 5 buildings and a 'manager.' The idea here is that each building can set their own night modes whenever they close or open.
One of the buildings doesn't feel like going to night2, when they ought to, so I want to schedule it.
I looked at scheduling this, but I'm not seeing any way to specify which tenant the event applies to. Is there such an option I'm just not seeing? Or does the night mode simply apply to the whole system (e.g. 'manager?')

Thanks,

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 69xx DECT headset cal control button
« on: December 21, 2020, 01:25:10 PM »
Hi folks. Just bought my first 6940 DECT headset (51305332). Seems to be paired already and audio works, but I can't figure out how to make the center button do anything.
I can hear the call ringing in the headset, but pushing the button does not answer.

Is there some programming to make that work? Could it be confused about which line to answer? (I wouldn't think so...)

The only way I can seem to initiate a headset call is with the speaker/headset button on the set. Kinda defeats the point of having the call ring in your ear if you can't answer...

Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / call forwards/alternate/timers/etc
« on: December 02, 2020, 05:13:45 PM »
Hi folks.
With many folks WFH lately, I've had some pretty odd requests... I can't quite figure this one out.

This person has a desk phone, x454. Historically it's always done what the others do - rings for 22 seconds, then goes to 800, the VM pilot.

Well now, she wants internal calls only to forward to her cell at 12 seconds, but any other calls to ring the desk and go to VM as usual after 22.

I have a 'forward no answer internal' number set, and enabled, but I can't figure out where the timer is for this, or how that differentiates between the regular 22 second forward to alternates timer (VM).

I made a custom COS for her and set the forward no answer timer to 12, but it still rings 22s then goes to her cell.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi folks,
I'm trying to find out, really, how many phones (multiline sets, IP devices, sip devices, etc) I can actually have on a CX ii. Some "official" Mitel documentation seems to indicate 150. However, I currently have 159 working fine, and just added 10 more IP seats. My system capacity form seems to show that I have an allocated number of multiline sets at 756. Is this dependent on software version, or something?  If it matters, we're running Release level: 8.0 SP3 PR1  Active software load: 14.0.3.22.

Thanks in advance,

Hi folks,
Evidently we have some pranksters that like to go around changing things like language and contrast settings on out 53xx phones once in a while. I hate to tackle a management problem with a technical solution, but was wondering if there's a way to prevent these kinds of changes. Disabling [only] blue menu key> settings would be nice, and wouldn't stop most normal functions from working. (as it is me who ultimately has to fix this since you can no longer see the screen.)

Is it possible to lock down just certain functions like this one?

And just out of pure curiosity, is it even possible that the phone might be doing this on its own?

Thanks,

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / forward always from XXX
« on: October 22, 2019, 11:21:19 AM »
Hi folks,
I'm not sure it this is a 3300 thing or a MAS/NuPoint thing...
We have several main numbers that forward to the NuPoint directly, and ring some groups before going to VM.
When the calls hit the groups, it always says 'forward always from XXX' (XXX being the voice mail box number/extension.)

How can I change that to say the actual name of the VM "person" instead of the extension?
For example, 'forward always from Cadillac Service.'
The numbers are named in MAS as well as in the corporate directory, so I don't see where this setting might be.

Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,

Hi folks,
I'm sure there are several ways to do this -- just drawing a blank for the easiest...
I want to program a soft key on a 5330/40 to do a one-key-transfer to an external number. Is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks in advance,

Hi folks -
We're running 3300 CXII's with Release level: 8.0 SP3 PR1. All our current phonesets are 5330/40's, many with DECT handsets. When looking to purchase more, I'm finding the phones really cheap, but the DECT sets around $400(!). I've seen 6930/40's with the bluetooth handsets fairly cheap as well. From what I can gather, it appears that 8.0 SP3 supports the 68/6900 series phones. Is that right?

Also, is there any particularly compelling reason to upgrade to 9.x? I think our configuration is fairly simple - just 130 or so extensions, some ring groups/pickup groups, and a MAS VM server. Nothing complicated.

Thanks for the advice.
