MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / End Of An Era
« on: July 05, 2022, 07:49:31 AM »
Last week we pulled the plug on the last of our 250 controllers, once part of a 68-node network. It took three years and 2.6 million dollars, but all of our sites are fully integrated on the 3300 platform. We have all of the bells and whistles and neat call center tools, but when something breaks the finger pointing between network, telcom and service providers kicks into high gear.

I really miss the simpler days of my CS and HX controllers!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Version 6.3 Hunt Group Audio Issues
« on: May 30, 2018, 10:35:19 AM »
Heads-up guys about audio issues with v6.3 PR1 and ACD or UCD hunt groups using extension lists in a multi-node environment.

If there are off-node phones present in a hunt group extension list, phones on the local controller will have no audio when calls are answered.

Placing the incoming call on hold, then retrieving it, will restore audio. Phones ringing individually (not in an extension list) will work properly.

Mitel has multiple reports and is investigating.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / USB Hasp for Virtual PS-1 Server
« on: July 25, 2017, 02:31:59 PM »
Trying to install virtual PS-1 server for the first time, running into an issue with the USB hasp.

Mitel requires the hasp to be plugged into a USB port on the host, which isn't practical with blade servers. Our virtual CTI Gateway server uses a USB hasp plugged into a USB Anywhere device, which is configured via the Windows device manager on the Gateway server. Because the PS-1 is Linux, device manager isn't an option.

Anyone install a virtual PS-1, and if so, how did you connect the hasp?

This can be disabled on IP phones, anyone know of a way to do it with digital phones?

Mitel Software Applications / AMC License Issues
« on: October 05, 2016, 09:47:13 PM »
Mitel is still having issues with AMC licensing.

We had an issue with our Teleworker MBG in July, related to the AMC load balancing. Mitel says all is well, we move on.

Same problem happened with our SIP MBG over the weekend. After two days of troubleshooting, Mitel reports it's a load balancing issue again. So frustrating to have a server (and SIP trunks) off line for three days, with Mitel scratching their heads and suggesting software upgrades.

Just a heads up that the problem still exists.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Internet Down - One-way Audio
« on: July 18, 2016, 02:37:42 PM »
Stumped on this one. Our Internet service went down, part of the big Comcast outage in the northeast. Didn’t failover to the redundant carrier, but that’s another issue.

While Internet service was down, we experienced one-way audio on outside calls. Odd, because our voice is delivered via AT&T SIP trunks with an MBG. We have Teleworker phones connected via a second MBG which resides in a DMZ.

We’re running two HX controllers with PS-1 servers, MiCollab AWC and CSM. It makes sense that the Teleworker phones went down, and no one would be able to web into the AWC. Otherwise, nothing in the phone system touches the Internet. But when Comcast came back, one-way audio went away.

Any thoughts?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5320 Phones Not Connecting via DHCP
« on: November 25, 2015, 11:59:07 AM »
After replacing Cisco 1841 routers with Cisco 4321 units at two locations, the 5320 phones are no longer able to connect via DHCP. We can see that the phones are assigned a valid IP address, but they don’t accept it. The phones just hang on DHCP Discovery.

These are small offices, with just a couple of IP phones connected to HX controllers at remote sites. It’s a flat network with fiber connecting the sites, no VPNs. I assigned a static IP address to the phones, and they immediately come up.

These phones have been in service for months, and this issue started when the routers were replaced. My Cisco guy doesn’t have an answer, because he can see that a valid IP address has been assigned. I’ve included the log file from the router. Anyone maybe have a clue?

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab AWC Portal Screen Blanks with IE9
« on: January 21, 2015, 03:47:18 PM »
Since migrating from Internet Explorer 8 to 9, we are having issues setting up conference calls via the MiCollab portal. When clicking on the drop-down box to select the time, the screen blanks.

MiCollab is version 6.0.40.0, Mitel Standard Linux 10.1.26 in VMware. Any thoughts?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Outbound Access on Off-Node Trunk Groups
« on: October 29, 2014, 02:58:19 PM »
Is there any way to limit outbound access on off-node trunk groups like you can for local trunk groups? I want to be able to route calls via off-node SIP trunks, but not loop start lines.

It seems to be all or nothing to the remote node, unless I’m missing something.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Calls Not Being Presented
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:17:28 AM »
This one has me stumped. I’ve received numerous complaints from a site that incoming calls are not being presented to the ACDs, until 10 or more minutes have passed.

The complaint is as follows: the phone will ring and the call timer says the call has been active for 10 minutes or more. The caller says they have actually been holding for that long. The agent has been logged in and handling other calls during that time.

I’ve spent hours monitoring via Real Viewer, and I don’t see any issues. I received a call this morning that it happened on a UCD hunt group, the first time it wasn’t ACD.

The IP Resource Usage shows an average of less than 10 calls at a time, RAM usage peaks at 43% and CPU peaks at 27%. It doesn’t look like the system is working all that hard.

It’s an HX-5000 at version 5.1 SP4 PR5, 2 GB CF. Anyone know of any issues at that release or run into this problem before? I’ll most likely upgrade the system anyways.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / MCD Integration with 5000
« on: July 31, 2013, 08:23:17 AM »
We’re looking to replace the Axxess system in our main office, and Mitel is proposing a cloud-based MCD solution. They’re currently calling it MiVoice Business, but I understand it’s a 3300.

My concern is integration with my 50 networked 5000 sites. I have a lot of inter-node routing that I don’t want to lose. Integration would be via SIP, and I have serious doubts that networking will be seamless. One Mitel engineer says no problem; another says I would lose functionality.

Anyone have experience with this?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Stations Staying in Wrap Up Mode
« on: May 16, 2013, 09:52:33 AM »
HX5000 at version 5.1.0.52, SP4 PR5. Intermittently, stations do not come out of wrap-up mode after completing an ACD call. I can see it happening in Reporter, and can manually free the station.

We’ve just opened a ticket with Mitel, and are awaiting a response. Anyone seen this?
