We received a MAS license for the free clients, where do we get the server side software, and the client.
Also need the install docs.

I am looking for refurbished phones to use on our Mitel 5000 system.

We have 5312 and 5340 on the system now.

Can I expect any 53xx end-point to work?

We use the Viking model C-2000B to interface with our Mitel ICS on dual SL card.

The door unit is push button audio, it just rings what ever end-point we have setup in the system, at this point it rings the receptionist. Shows which door since we have multiple external doors.

What email server are you using, we use a email proxy software that resides on a local server, and pushes the email from the mitel to our exchange server.

Mady  MTA Service

Are these end-points on POE ?

If they are try putting them on a power brick, instead of getting power from the switch.

Found the problem, it was the MAC.

I neglected to change the first 3 octets, assumed they were static for Mitel in the ICS DB SW.

Now we are happy.

« on: November 11, 2011, 08:46:05 PM »
I have several 5212 IP Phones  setup off property in the USA. They all work just fine. We just setup one and sent it to Japan, once it boots up, the display shows "USE Superkey to SEND PIN"
.

None of the other phones have ever shown this message. What is the cause.

The phones are 56009221A Rev A13

Model 5212  PTC 220/05/058

Is there someting from it being in Japan .vs the USA that could cause this.?

You should not have to put anything in the setup of the end-point, if it is defaulted, it will look for the options needed to boot from your tftp server.
If you have the DHCP Scope setup to support the IP segment, i.e. in the pool for the end-units.
Setup a scope option for 125 Mitel 125
Setup a Scope option for 128 Mitel TFTP, this points to the tftp server
Setup a scope option for 129 Mitel RTC
Setup a scope option for 130 Mitel IP Phone identifier
Setup a scope option for 132 VLAN for Mitel IP Phones
Setup a scope option for 133 Priority for Mitel IP Phone

If your not able to find how to do this, I will look up a document and post here. I am sure it is in the FAQ for Mitel website.

This works for ALL the end-points on the network, no need to configure each phone, unless they are off property and coming in to the network from a public IP, behind a public firewall. Then I had to setup the IPC IP

Somehow I totally forgot to follow up on this.

The email forwarder we are using is from Mady MTA service, it sits on any PC in the domain.
www.ocloudsoft.com

On our 5312 IP Phones, I have setup the following.

MAC ADDRESS:
PHONE IP ADDRESS:  0.0.0.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY IP: 0.0.0.0
SUBNET MASK: 0.0.0.0
CUR CONTROLLER IP:  EXTERNAL PUBLIC IP
ICP1 IP ADDRESS:  EXTERNAL PUBLIC IP
ICP2 IP ADDRESS:  0.0.0.0
ICP3 IP ADDRESS: 0.0.0.0
ICP4 IP ADDRESS: 0.0.0.0
TFTP SVR IP ADDRESS: EXTERNAL PUBLIC IP
VLAN ID: None
L2 PRIORITY: None
DSCP: None
IPA IP ADDRESS: ICP PRIVATE IP
DNS1 IP ADDRESS: 0.0.0.0
DNS2 IP ADDRESS: 0.0.0.0

I have our system on VLAN 99, and such the phones look to the DHCP server for help.

Do you have option 43 setup on the NEW DHCP server?

This is the code section of my option 43;

Code: [Select]
.com;sw_tftp=192.168.99.1;call_srv=192.168.99.1;vlan=99;l2p=6;dscp=46

My 5K Mitel is at 192.168.99.1 on vlan 99

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / PRI with different area codes
« on: March 11, 2010, 12:52:30 PM »
We have our corp office in Florida, and a satellite office in N.C. and OK.
I have asked our phone carrier if we could get a single line added to the PRI with an area code from one of the remote offices.
Something like what Vonage does when you port your number.

Nuvox says no way, this is not possible, has anyone heard of this being possible. The idea is the military base employees, can only call local numbers, and calling Florida is LD.
So if we had a OK, and a N.C. number on the PRI, then this would solve the problem.

This sounds similiar to what we are doing, with HP switches.
I chose to use option 43 in the DHCP server, therefore. any device that is a mitel end-point, knows to look to the vlan4 scope.
