Customer has Calendar Integration, they confirm that it works for appointments that are scheduled significantly ahead of time, but if they claim that if an appointment is scheduled on the spot it doesn't update their Client (within a few minutes.)

Is there a time frame that the MiCollab Client and Outlook ping each other for calendar updates?

I'm skeptical that the customer is creating an appointment after the starting time of the appointment, and this is why the Client is not updating.
Any thoughts?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: MiVoice UC360 setup query
« on: September 12, 2017, 12:29:08 PM »
I've deployed these successfully by programming them as Generic SIP Phone, and no need to setup SIP Capabilities. Everything can be done from the User and Services Configuration form on the MiVB. Super easy.

On the UC360 side, you need to open Advanced Settings, administrator password is 'admin' and then enter the SIP Settings. Essentially just the SIP Server (MiVB Address), Extension/Username/SIP Username are all whatever the extension is, and then the Password which you defined when you programmed the phone in MiVB.

You're just creating a Single Line. This is how you add an extension that is not the primary extension of a phone.

If the number already existed, you would get a message saying, "The following error was encountered: This directory number is currently programmed as another type of group." or it would accept the Save, but change the Line Type to Multicall.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Specific DHCP Options for 6900 Series?
« on: August 08, 2017, 09:26:38 AM »
Hello,

I'm working on a new install and they've got a mix of 5320e, 6920, and 6940 phones. The 5320s boot fine. The 6900 Series phones either stick on 40% Waiting for DHCP or 90% Contacting Call Svr 0.0.0.0
When I provide a static address for the Call Server the 6900 phones will come up, but this is not ideal and I would like DHCP to do the job for me.

I read that the 6900s support Options 125 and 43. Is this a both or an either/or type scenario?
These are my current DHCP Options:
3 Router
125 Mitel
128 TFTP Server
129 Call Server
130 IP Phone Identifier
134 DSCP

Thanks in advance!

Number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.
Womp womp.

We're going to have to get a Toshiba one up here soon!

So I know before I even get started that this may be a waste of time, but it doesn't hurt to ask...

I'm using Aastra 6867i phones as SIP phones for a 3rd party hosted phone system.
Looking into the key programming, there are "Top Keys" (6 keys to the left of the display) and "Main Keys" (4 keys beneath the display). Currently have multiple pages of Top Keys, where the 6th key diplays as ". . . ." and functions as a next-page type feature.

My question is, is there any way to be able to utilize multiple pages of all 6 Top Keys, and have the ". . . ." Moved to the Main Keys, but still function for changing the page number of the Top Keys? Or are the Top and Main keys completely separate?

I am not logging into the phone directly by IP address, but rather through the 3rd party hosted service. I have a feeling that all of the control here lies with the provider, but again, I thought it was worth asking.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Voicemail to Email Issue
« on: May 25, 2017, 02:12:17 PM »
A few months ago I had a slew of customers with the same problem. I was able to find a solution that fixed the issue for all of them. See below:

When setting up email integration with Office 365 there are a few considerations:

1) - Mitel recommends Mitel 5000 release 6.2 or later software for integration with O365.

2) - server address must be entered in the following format - <domain>.mail.protection.outlook.com. So if the company's domain is xyzinc.com, the address would be xyzinc-com.mail.protection.outlook.com. Take note that the domain uses a hyphen in place of the dot.

3) - port should be set to 25

4) - username and password seem to be required by the Mitel server. Despite what the server admin may assert regarding authentication it is best to enter an account and password. Ask the server admin to provide account/password. Rel 6.2 and higher will generate INVALID APPLICATION alarm A028 when account info is missing from the email gateway form.

5) - a connector is required in the O365 environment to enable mail relay. The following article seems to describe the setup process quite well  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn751020(v=exchg.150).aspx

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Aastra phone on the 5000/250
« on: March 28, 2017, 04:51:04 PM »
It's always a good feeling when you get unsupported hardware to work the way you want.
I had a similar story from the past week- Customer was going from a hosted solution to an on-premise PBX because of complaints of dropped calls. I got their Aastra 6757i phones to work on a FortiVoice. Only feature I could confirm as not working was the message waiting indicator, so I just setup voicemail-to-email and no one even notices the difference.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: Latest version for 5000?
« on: March 28, 2017, 04:43:05 PM »
That makes perfect sense, and we'd involve the vendor before any upgrades.  We're running into random problems right now and it would be nice if a new version fixed those issues.  While I normally trust my vendor, it's issues like this where it would be nice to point at a new version and say "hey, let's try this"

Generally speaking, Mitel tech support recommends software upgrades like a doctor recommends drinking more water.
6.2 SP1 is the newest version.

They are absolutely supported. I was just working on those models on that software version earlier today.
TE mentioned all of those models from the documentation, and I have can confirm that I've seen them all in a working 6.2 environment.

I'm able to get to MiVB 8.0 from IE 11 on a Win10. The only thing I had to do was add the address to Compatibility View. Not sure what to suggest for Server2012.

Was the software recently upgraded? It sounds like a licensekey needs to be downloaded from AMC and installed on the PBX.

Introduction and Announcements / What's your background in the industry?
« on: February 08, 2017, 06:05:53 PM »
Hi everyone, I joined Mitel Forums yesterday.

I'm a 29 year-old convergence systems engineer in Chicago. I started my career in the industry 9 years ago helping a friend place phones at larger installs for MCD customers (mostly schools and villages) during my summer breaks from college. As time progressed I started getting actual paychecks and working more on the programming side of things. I earned my certification on MCD within the first year of being full-time. At the end of my time with that company, I was working the call center assisting customers with SX-200, SX-2000, MCD, MAS/NuPoint, and a variety of 3rd party applications and voicemails.

About a year ago was laid off, and was snatched up by a local competitor so fast that I never even got to fill out the unemployment forms. The new company is great; my peers are a lot closer in age (even through I'm still the youngest,) and the culture really promotes training and collecting certifications. They are a PBX vendor as well as a full-service MSP. Since starting there, I've picked up skills in Avaya IP Office, Oaisys, and a whole lot of Mitel 5000/MiVO250. More technical work like implementations, upgrades, and networking. Certified in Avaya Aura (ACIS), and SIP (SSCA). And this year I will be adding certifications in IP Office, MiVoice Office 250, and CompTIA Network+.

I've had some amazing role models along the way, and look forward to helping others as well as learning from others here on this forum.

Cheers!

I think given the choices, I'd go with Long-Distance Toll and not modify the Numbering Plan/Toll Strings; understanding that they'll have to dial the Access Code for all LD calls.

So it is my understanding that I'd want Forced, Non-Validated, Long-Distance Toll...
I would add the extensions to that list under Account Codes, and also confirm that the Account Code Type in their System > Device and Feature Codes > Phones profile is "Forced - Long-Distance Toll Call"
However, this does not prompt for an account code after a LD call is placed from a set with these settings assigned.
Is there something else that I'm missing?

edit: Additionally, In System > Phone-Related Information > Account Codes > Forced, I see a Folder for "Non-Validated", a folder for "Validated", and what looks like a bullet-point with "001" underneath both folders.
