Mitel Software Applications / Re: MBG and a VPN
« on: December 05, 2019, 03:19:26 AM »
If you are using it in server-gateway mode, it should from what I know pass through an IPSec tunnel. The only vpn passthru issue I have ever seen was trying a remote pptp and having pptp turned on it the server config. That was years back.

Hello johnp

Can you confirm how you achieve this so I can confirm if I have missed a step?

At the moment I have port forwarded the cisco IPSec port on the mbg to my cisco router behind the MBG

Also any basic steps on the PPTP side

Can you have a IPsec VPN pass through an MBG?  Before I go into detail, I want to know if it can be done first

Cheers

Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab Contact List
« on: June 18, 2019, 04:19:59 PM »
Hello all

I was wondering what people are doing to share contacts via the MiCollab (Mobile app with soft phone and PC app with soft phone)?

The desk phone have the telephone directory which is perfect but can that be shared with the MiCollab. I know the corporate one can’t but do you have any other way in which you can add it to the personal section.

If the above is not an option then can you use anything else that will allow a company to to share customer contacts (add / modify) that will populate the contacts on the MiCollab applications?

I have tried Office 365 with a shared contact list that I have shared with members on Windows 10 PC’s. Using Outlook the contacts only seemed to be pulled from the users contacts and not the shared contacts.

If anyone can think of any other ways that will be a great help. Currently using the latest MiCollab release and calendar integration is not an option

TIA

Does it matter if I can’t use option 125? This is not local so we connect back via MBG’s.

Or can I use part of it?

You would need to have LLDP enabled on the Procurve so it recognizes a phone from a PC, then it should be able to route the request to the appropriate VLAN/DHCP server.

That's way too general a statement, as there's a little more to it than just turning it on, there would be some config involved on the switch. However, it sounds to me like LLDP is what you're looking for.

Thank you so much, I will look into that. Have you ever dealt with or used hybrid ports before. I assume you would still need LLDP in place? In this scenario as the MiVB is hosted with an OTT connection we only have 1 Windows Server giving out DHCP. Is this a problem?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / VLAN for Mitel Hosted solution
« on: April 09, 2019, 11:20:18 AM »
Hello All

Just wanting some advice if possible. We now have a hosted solution and want to plug our PC's into the PC port on my IP Phone. Due to cabling structure we are having to use one HP Procurve Switch port per person.

We are trying to setup a Voice and Data network with Data on VLAN 1 and Voice on VLAN 30. I have created a scope for the data 192.168.1.0 and Voice 192.168.5.0 on my windows DHCP server. I can access devices on each side so the Layer 3 side is working ok.

The issue I have is I cant seem to make the devices pick up the right IP addresses / VLAN. do I need to add some programming to the switch port or the DHCP? Can I use DHCP or will one device need to be static? At the moment the port is untagged for VLAN 30 and I have a trunk port from the switch to the router with VLAN 1 and 30 tagged

Any help on this will be great

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Ring Group call history
« on: March 30, 2019, 09:14:19 AM »
Hello all

Got a customer query that I am not 100% on. They want to setup a Ring Group but also show RG call history for the users of the RG. So if they miss a call it shows on the users in the RG

They also want to be able to delete missed calls when they have returned the call to save double handling. Can and of this be done?

Hello all

I was wondering if anyone know a show a company calling / external customer on the MiCollab application?

We can’t use calendar integration so can a file of sorts be place in a certain location on a PC / Mobile for the contacts to then show under the Personal tab.

The deal phones work fine as we can add the numbers on the Telephone Directory and use the phone book option

Mitel Software Applications / Domain Name and SSL Cert
« on: March 03, 2019, 03:15:36 PM »
Hello all.

I am setting up some lab test systems and want to do it all properly.

Can anyone recommend any way to pick up a free FQDN and SSL. This area is not my strong point and I won’t get a budget to buy the above.

I can find sites that give you free domain name but linking the free domain name to the SSL Cert is what I am struggling with for my MiCollab server.

Any recommended Free SSL cert sites? I.e. Let’s Encrypt
Any good free domain name sites that are easy to link to the SSL CERT

Or is my understanding in this all wrong

Cheers

Can you go down the Mitel Express as that hosts the MiVB, MiCollab, MBG ,etc on the same MSL server

I might be wrong though

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Voicemail to Email on office 365

If I am right you need to use the UM settings in the users mailbox - username and password

Make sure VM to E-mail is disabled

You then also need to populate the VM Network Server option under the voicemail Tab

Finally in Voicemail - system settings you will see another option to put in the SMTP details, etc

No need to do anything else as the email server option is only used on VM TO Email which you won’t be using.

Might need to let office 365 know of your external IP

Fixed it, the setting in the user mbg.

MBG - System settings - setting and in Minet option you will see an option for 12 hour or 24 hour

Has this request been actioned my mitel yet?

DCR (Design Change Requests) that have been approved take a while to implement, anywhere from 6 months to years.

The real challenge is getting them approved for implementation... I've done several DCR's, most never get acted on at all. The more people who put in DCR's for the same thing, the more likely it is to be implemented. Remember that DCR's are NOT bug fixes, they are changes to the current implementation of the software.

I have an update on this but on SIP trunks. We have had a few calls with Mitel and with calls that come in with inband DTMF we have asked them to send a 488 error message and not accept the call like it currently does. This will then allow Telephone Events to be sent after the 488 coming back from the Mitel. Not sure if it’s gonna be a patch for us on added to the next SP / Release

Hello all

Just wondering if anyone has come across this. We are using the Mitel MiVB 8.0 with the latest SP.

I have notice the time display on my 69xx series phone shows in 24 Hour format but 53xx Phones don’t.

The option in the System Options, Multiline set 24 hour format is set to yes. The NTP shows in a 24 hour format.

Have I missed an option on the 53xx phone or system. Could it be a firmware issue?

Cheers
