Mitel Software Applications / Re: Call Recording with Hot Desk users

@sarond - The extension is 521 and the hot desk agent ID is 5*21.

How does that work?

Your non-hotdesk agents don't have an agent ID different to their extension, do they?

The SIP Peer Profile has a few things like "Prefer From Header for Caller ID", "Use P-Asserted Identity Header" & "Use user=phone" you could experiment with.

In other PBX's a Hunt group can ring all extensions, in Mitel land, it's a called a Ring Group.

Not much hunting in a group that rings all JMHO :-)

Mitel has both. They used to do different things, but features of one were added to the other to the point where they are virtually the same.

You don't need to do anything by MAC address.

add the extension in the /Server/Lists.../Lists/Extension Lists (The Agent ID should be the extension)
add the user to /Users.../Users including their Extension number
add the extension to /Server/Recording Manager/Ports in any available port

I think there is a CoS on the 3300 you need your user to be in as well.

Is there actually a firewall between the 3300 and the PC?
When these kinds of issues are caused by a firewall, the person who is asked to check the firewall almost always frustrates the situation with "there is nothing being dropped by the firewall". And then weeks or months later, "oh, look, I didn't see those when I looked before".

Just temporarily put the PC on the same VLAN as the controller and disable the Windows FW to prove the point once and for all.

I'm using softphone in VDI and it works OK.
It worked on older versions of the client, and older versions of MiCollab Server too.
Windows 10 caused all sorts of problems, so if your VDI is Windows 10, make sure you have a very recent version of MiCollab Server and the very latest version of the Client.

I had one last week where it wasn't hitting the DID form - turned out some saboteur had selected the DID "Off" radio button on the Trunk Attributes form on my new SIP trunk.

This reminds me of when people log service desk tickets asking if they have international dialling enabled or not.
I always wonder why they don't just dial internationally to find out.

Similarly, in this case, you can configure a music key on somebody's phone, or, you can just put a call on hold....

Is this on internal calls?
How much, exactly, is missing at the beginning of the call?
Check the controller VQ Stats form - are the affected calls showing large buffer underruns?

LOCATE EXTENSION nnnn
gives how long it's been logged in. For what it's worth.

The form is called Direct Inward Dialling Service. I think it was introduced in v6.

I'm not sure about Line Groups. I make callflows in mailboxes.

« on: November 18, 2019, 08:03:30 PM »
Good morning,
I have a customer that keeps getting called by an unlisted number. The calls consists of heavy breathing and other unwelcome sounds.

I am fairly inexperienced with this system and am wondering if there is a way we can trace the call and extract the number since this comes through a pri.

They are using release 8.0 sp 3 pr3
14.0.3.51

Any ideas?

Tell them to record it and report it to the police.
Most countries have a Telecommunications law that allows police to prosecute people for this kind of behaviour.

OK, so if you're on 7.2, why do you have direct in-dials associated with speed dials?

Your DIDs should be configured on the DID form.
Your speed dials is where you should have your call forward targets configured, when your call forward targets are external numbers (although you can call forward to external numbers fine without using speed dials anyway).

If my agents were not on a call and not in make busy and they failed to accept a call presented to them, I'd hand them over to the CIA for some waterboarding.

Do you have MOH#1 set as the MOH for only Recording 1 on the ACD Path?

Is it being re-queued to the same path, or is there a backup path it's going to?
