Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Minor Alarm
« on: February 09, 2012, 09:10:43 PM »
if you did a database restore the thresholds are lost..  I saw something about a backup and what not in the thread..  if you upgraded or did any kind of DB restore it will erase the alarm thresholds set by the set thresh commands..

I typically always set up the extensions in the suite to be relate to the pilot numbers in some way..

pilot, 7111
ext 1 77111
ext 2 67111
ext 3 57111

this way when the front desk sees the caller ID, they know by training of the room easily...

the PMS sets the teldir entry against the suite pilot since that is what is programmed into the guest room assignment form...

its been a while since ive used suite services..  most hotels now days we just install 1 extension..  if its an IP phone we put in an IP base and multiple cordless handsets for the various areas of the suite..  much easier than messing with multiple phones when in hotels no one really uses the phone any more..

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Mitel 3300 Hard disk size

at the vxworks level you can try ataShow

that might give you the info you need..  not sure how the RAID controller will respond back since it looks like one drive to the ICP..   i do know that mix and matchinbg branbds and models of Hard drives definitely makes the RAID controller upset..  If I cannot an exact duplicate of a drive, I replace both of them..

OK so i have worked on Mitels a long time..  yet ran into something at site im on  that ive never dealt with..  being able to program a speed-call number into a 3300 Super console 1000 FIRMKEY...

Ive always built firmkeys with func att-function-firmkeys, then pressed the firmkey till it displayed what I want  and done...
I cant for the life of me figure out how to make one a speed-call..  yet they  have it on one of their consoles..  I want to add it on another one of their consoles...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 3300 load 7.0.9.5 anyone have it?
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:57:53 AM »
I was able to get 99% of the database exported out of the system, so I just built up an MCD 5.0 system  on a lab MXE..  the site has the MXE.. and software assurance so im just upgrading them to MCD 5.0..

turns out it is ONE extension  that somehow got deleted, yet the multiline set key assignment for that phone stayed in the SX2K (call control) part of the database...  no way out of that  but to build up a new one or restore from backup...

thanks for those that found software!..

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 load 7.0.9.5 anyone have it?
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:46:25 AM »
I have a customer that has no backup of their system wit ha corrupt CC database..  in fact its the muti-line set key assignment form that is corrupted...   a data save bombs out on this form, and a dbms check will hang forever...

from what mitel says it is an issue with a key appearance too many places..  they claim the only way to fix is to upgrade and restore from a backup (that doesnt exist)..  they are on load 7.0.9.5, the oldest load i can get my hands on from mitel is 7.0.22.X,

im wondering is anyone has 7.0.9.5  software, I want to try and perform some surgery on this system and see if i can recover it using another system (a lab system with the proper icenses enabled)..  I just no longer have a 7.0.9.5 load software so i can make the install on my lab 3300...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 5360 Set SIP?
« on: August 18, 2010, 07:17:39 AM »
my thoughts exactly.. i never even asked when I ordered the phone. . just assumed it would work in a SIP mode..  it has the "phone mode" option  and I changed it to SIP. . but then get that error.,.,,  im running it on MCD 4.1, although I think there is a newer load or 2 for the mitel.. maybe ill upgrade my MXe to the latest..  just to see if they dropped a newer 5360 load in....  fortunately the phone was bought with marketing dollars and its all still in a LAB set up.

Non-Mitel Chatter / Re: What tools do you use?
« on: August 04, 2010, 11:27:57 AM »
old thread but ill reply..

for 200s  i have used hexedit pro to gain access to systems where the previous service provider refused to give up the passcode

for installs.. I needed a way to identify analog extensions  (to make sure the right extension is in the right hotel room)..

one way was to build all the mailboxes as standard admins and they read back the extension when you dial voicemail..

I also built a mini asterisk machine that i carry around.. it reads the caller ID from where im calling, answers the line, reads back the extension number to me.. hangs up, waits 3 seconds then dials me back....

great so that way I can test in and outbound calling on every station I install..

the asterisk box is simply  a soekris with an FXO card in it connected to a CLASS port on the mitel...  works great..

I have even done it running asterisk virtually on my laptop and a linksys SPA-3102  connected to the mitel...

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 5360 Set SIP?
« on: August 04, 2010, 11:07:08 AM »
does anyone know if there are plans to support SIP on the 5360 phones? of course I didnt get any good answers when I called mitel...  they just look at the same sales literature which makes no mention of it..

and of course trying to do a mode change on the phone results in 'installer newer load' sip not available....

just thought maybe someone here would know...

Mitel SX200, SX2000, and older SX platforms / Re: Backing up 200ICP
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:19:26 PM »
ok so this is a dead-old thread  but regardless I'll answer it for those that may want the answer...

Kermit Backup on a 200 will NOT back up any of the Internal Voicemail system but does back up the phone system and settings..

in a cluster to be able to reach anything on another ICP it has to be in the directory..  so 2500 would have to be added to OPS and then it would propagate to the RDN screen on the other ICP's and be dialable..

are you looking to use one VM system for all of your ICP's in the cluster?

yeah I guess I ought t owatch the webinar on the new licensing schemes..  everyone says its going to be a pain....

is MCD a completely different product or is it the new name / version for the 3300 ICP software? or to run it do I need a completely different license and all in my AMC to use it?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: ASR
« on: November 16, 2009, 02:41:02 PM »
wouldnt the wonders of Nortel's CDP be a godsend here!...

other option requires a lot of programming but you could take "9" out of your ARS leading digits.. and then route 9+ whatever illegal number you want in system speedcall back to the extension..  if someone dials a "legal" number or prefix ytou send it our ARS via say access code "88"..  and then ARS handles it from there to the PSTN....

on the 3300 it is also necessary to go into the RTC shell and change the passwords there as well...  many of the ARS forms CAN be accessed through the old "sx-2000" shell  and thise passcodes remain default even when the ESM passwords are secure... that says if someone was able to get the IP address of your system they could be into ARS and open up whatever routes they want...

I have found MANY mitel systems where the RTC shell is default...
