I think this is an available function for Phone Messenger?  But the base system won't do exactly that.  However, the system does allow unassociated mailboxes (no phone) to light the message lamp on a phone.  Pressing the MSG key will cause the display to show which of the mailboxes lit the lamp and allow you to pick up message.

Actually you can't enter feature codes, choices will show up as voice prompts...in this case if your phone is admin phone the voice mail lady will ask if you want to invoke night mode.  Can you get into db programming?  If so we can walk you through the process of making config asst accessible from outside.

You can also invoke night mode from the USER WEB ACCESS if you can hit that from outside, just log into an ext with admin rights.

If you're using a conventionial headset (not Mitel integrated headset) pressing 317 puts the phone in headset mode (or back out).  In that mode you go off-hook to answer or make calls by pressing the speaker key.  Speakerphone is not usable while in headset mode.

Also, of course, remember that route groups search top-down for a match so after you create the DXX route group drag it to the top of the list.

Are all the DXX users in the same area code as phone system?  If so, you could trick the PBX into limiting available trunks by the following magic:
1. Enter all the DXX numbers as going to area code 555 instead of the real one (we'll say your real AC is 123 for these instructions).
2. Divide your trunks into two groups, A & B, with B having the number of trunks you want to  allow for DXX, and those trunks being at the top of the group.
3. Modify your ARS Local facility group to include A, then B.  This will mean if A is busy regular outbound will roll to B as long as DXX isn't already using.
4. Create a new ARS facilities group called DXX, with dial rules "ADD 123 (local AC)" and "ECHO LOCAL NUMBER".
5. Create a new ARS route group called DXX, with pattern 555+
6. Choose the new DXX facilities group as the one used by the DXX route group.
So what happens is any time ARS sees AC555 it's going to use the limited trunks in TG B if available, strip off the 555 and replace with 123 and send the call. No trunks available in B group = blocked call.

Haven't built it, but have used similar trick for things like adding *67  to block outbound caller ID.

If DXX users have various area codes all is not lost, it just gets more complicated.

I think you should change it (can always change it back if needed).  I know it's counter-intuitive but those are the settings that always work for me.

8
Also take a look at SYSTEM/NUMBERING PLAN/HOME AREA CODES, make sure yours is there.  And SYSTEM/NUMBERING PLAN/ARE FLAGS...typically today you'd want the top two YES, bottom three NO.

9
Can you dial 11-digit long distance (1-123-456-7890)?

10
Is this true no matter what the digits before the 5 are?  Are you using ARS or selecting a trunk group?  Since that 5 is the seventh digit dialed it sure looks like the number is being treated as a 7 digit local number.  What kind of lines do you have?  Instead of dialing 8 or OUTGOING try dialing 92000 (ARS) and the number and compare what happens if you dial 92001 (or whatever your trunk group is) followed by the number, see if the behavior is the same or different.
None of this is ti fix it, just to help determine what's wrong.

Maybe an ext conflict with the calling node, preventing an import of numbers from the one where 123X numbers reside?  In the calling node try to create a new phone with a 123X extension (even though you don't really want to).  I'm betting it will give you an errer message telling you what device at the calling node is already using 123.  If it does, just renumber the offending device and redo import.

12
Certainly can do exactly what you want.  Go to SYSTEM/TRUNK-RELATED INFO/ CALL ROUTING TABLES on the node where the desired DID comes in.  Hopefully one group has an obvious name like MAIN LINES or T1/PRI.  Open that up, pick the number you want, and enter your DESTINATION extension.  If your installer was lazy and didn't enter all 100 numbers you may have to add one into the list...be sure it appears ABOVE the "E" and "+", if the list has those entiies at the bottom (those entries tell it what the do with Empty (no DID delivered) or + (any number not listed).

DENIED NUMBERS is a list of numbers you can't call, typically 900 numbers.
ALLOWED NUMBERS is a list of numbers users can call even if they normally can't call long distance, such as 800, 888, 877 etc.
ARS is automatic route selection: the system looks at the number dialed and decides how to send it...trunks to use, digits to add, delete or echo.

If you're not using an OUTGOING button on phones, 8 is the feature code usually used to place an outside call (people used to use 9 for this).  Depending how your system is programmed it might pick ARS or might pick a trunk group.  You can see what this does by looking at SYSTEM/DEVICES/PHONES/XXX/ASSOCIATED EXTENSIONS/OUTGOING...you should see either 92000 (ARS) or a trunk group number.

Also, does the carrier allow International?  Many people say NO when they first order their lines because they never think they'll need it.
Easy test: instead of dialing 8 or OUTGOING, direct connect to trunk group by dialing TG number (92001?) and dial the international call (011 etc.).  If the PBX is blocking the call you should get an error on the display telling you why. If the call works you'll need to find the error in ARS or just have them use this method for international.  Note: this does assume that you don't have ARS ONLY flag turned on in CLASSES OF SERVICE.

SILENT MONITOR is a UCD function, not ACD, so she already has the ability.  Build a hunt group in which she is the supervisor and the person to be monitored is a member (you don't need to route any calls to the group). I'd suggest giving her a SILENT MONITOR button (321) and a button for the person she'll be monitoring so she'll see when the newbie is on the phone.  When newbie's button is lit, press SILENT MONITOR, then newbie's button.
If this is the only person she'll monitor you could make the SILENT MONITOR button a STATION SPEED DIAL instead, and program it with 321 followed by extension for single button operation, but I'd still want a separate button for newbie so supervisor can see when phone is busy.
