Hi, work in school and got lumbered with the mitel system, at present we have an automatic day/night service setup and working but i have been asked to change the message for holidays etc at the school. Question is i was not involved in the initial setup and dont know were to look or what to do, I got in touch with our provider and they want to charge us for someone to come down and carryout training, I asked for instructions and they said no?

We have a 3300 control can anyone give me a idiots guide to how to change the message and set it up for the main reception phone?

Thanks in advance.

Tried phone from same block / same switch and still no joy, whats annoying is the fact if i dial the school phone number first then put in the extension it works fine, same if i dial out that way from the mobile to my desk phone.  >:( >:(

No the vlan is just purely set up to separate the VoIP from network traffic, no routers involved just all switches.

Yes we have tried phoning from different blocks (different switch cabs ) across the site.

One thing i have not tried is from the same block as the kitchen i will try that as they will be in the same switch cab.

A bit more info, if i dial the ext directly we cant hear them they can hear us as we are aware, BUT if i use my mitel voip phone and dial an outside line to school reception then dial the extension of the voip phone (and gigaset phone) it all works fine?

So question is whats blocking it? no SIP ALGS configured on switches ???????

Nothing on any switches apart from the vlan and thats just basic traffic routing/seperating nothing complicated

Yes as its the only nic port available in that area, ill unplug the normal mitel phone and test.

Thanks for the reply xman, but the mitel phone part of the ring group which the mobile is linked from works fine, maybe if i try it in and individual nic port of its own it may work better?

Done as per your help and still same result, they can hear me but i cant hear them, yet external calls to that number work fine, they can dial me on the gigaset and can hear me but again i cant hear them ????  see screenshot of sip, could it be because its in both a ring group and personal ring group?

One thing i do know, all our ip phones are on the same sip device capabilities (1)
