My market is saturated with businesses that have 10-20 phones and 5 or 6 loop starts. How do you justify 20 seats at $30 a pop per month in perpetuity while only offsetting a $200 a month phone bill?

Am I the only one who feels like Mitel is going out of there way to punish their partners? We sell and service mostly Office 250 systems. I can no longer find reasonably priced wireless accessories for the 53xx phones because Mitel is focusing on the 69xx series. However, the only way I can implement 69xx series phones somewhat effectively is to sale Phone Manager due to a lack of Minet. Now I have customers that have purchased systems within the past 2 years that I can't accommodate. I'm sorry sir, the $20K you spent last year was to buy phones that Mitel no longer makes cordless handsets for. But if you'd like to drop another $10K, I can put another server on your network and get you some nice looking new phones with limited functionality that they do offer cordless accessories for. And what is with this Premium Software assurance? What a crock!!!!
I can go hosted and get the 69xx, but Oria is an absolute TURD! And don't even get me started on the Shoretel. That product is designed to cut the partner out of the equation entirely. Sorry for venting, just really frustrated.

In fact, I don’t see where I can transfer or Park from the Phone Manager mobile client either. Surely I’m missing something

Sessiontalk client worked for me. Haven’t figured out a way to transfer calls though without having to put the call on hold, intercom who I want to transfer to and tell them to wait a few seconds and reverse transfer, then hang up and retrieve the original call and put it back on hold so the reverse transfer can take place. Any thoughts TE?

Yeah. I changed the password. I'm using it through a VPN

Only the username has to be the extension. It's working. Thanks everybody

I just figured out if I set up authentication to use the extension number of the phone as the username and password, it registers. However, I get the A149 insecure password alarm.

I'm not trying to register with the Phone Manager. I was just stating that I have successfully configured SIP extensions and authentication on the 250 for Phone Manager. The register request is making it to the ICP, I just keep getting an error. I've tried 2 different sip clients.

We have a Phone Manager demo account. I have set up the Phone Manager mobile client as well as the 6940. I just can't get a generic sip client to register. I've tried SessionTalk and Zoiper. I enter my credentials and keep getting 404 not found.

Does anyone know of a sip softphone app that would function as a sip extension on the 250 without phone manager?

Might sound silly, but I've had the same problem before. Only started after I disabled Human Answer Supervision so the person wouldn't have to press # when their mobile rang. I put Human Answer Supervision back on and it works correctly. Haven't really had time to contact Mitel on why that was the problem.

In my opinion, the ShoreTel buyout was just to eliminate a competitor and secure 2nd place in the market. A show of ARMS! Damnit Cisco is still number 1! Support and migration path all the way. According to my reps, the 69** series will be supported in the 6.4 release. I can't wait. I've done a couple of deployments in Oria, and I have to say that these phones are AWESOME! 6940 for the win. Can't beat it. Comes stock with a wireless handset, pairs with your mobile, 96 programmable buttons and a wireless headset. I mean, COME ON! You no longer have to choose between a dect headset OR a PKM. You can have both. Hell, you can even get a WLAN adapter for places you can't get a cable to. Cisco has embedded wireless, but at least we're getting closer.

Awesome! I once networked 6 locations together and the wizard screwed me big time. That's why I use the method I described to you.

Node 1

System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes
By default, the system is already Node 1. Nothing to change here.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/IPConnections
By default, Processor Module is P6000 and Expansion Card is P6001. Nothing to change here.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes
Here, we define the remote Nodes one at a time. Right click, create remote node. We’re creating Node 2, so use extension 97002. If we were creating Node 3, we would use 97003 unless we had to account for Expansion Cards. System will not reboot, but DB Programming will restart.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/NodeIPConnectionGroups
P8000 has been automatically created for Node 2. Put 2 in the description field so you can keep up with which Node this group is for. This description comes in handy when you’re networking multiple nodes.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/IPConnections/97002
Right click, create off node ip connection. Create extension P6002 for Node 2. Double click P6002. Modify Remote IP Address to match IP address of Node 2.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes/97002/NodeTrunk/IPConnectionGroups
Right click, Add to Node/Trunk/IPConnectionsGroupsList. Add P8000 that was created for Node 2.

Node 2

System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes
Change Node number to Node 2. System will reboot.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/IPConnections
If you’re not using an Expansion Card, just change the Node 2 Processor Module to extension P6002 like we defined it as on Node 1.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes
Right click, Create Remote Node number 1. Define it as extension P6000. System will not reboot, but DB Programming will restart. ANNOYING!!!!
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/NodeIPConnectionGroups
Here we see that P8000 has again been created by default. Put 1 in the description field because this group has been created for node 1. See how it gets confusing.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/IPConnections/97000
Right click, create off node ip connection. Create extension P6000 for Node 1. Double click P6000. Modify Remote IP Address to match IP address of Node 1.
System/DeviceandFeatureCodes/Nodes/97002/NodeTrunk/IPConnectionGroups
Right click, Add to Node/Trunk/IPConnectionsGroupsList. Add P8000 that was created for Node 1.

Now go to Operations and Export/Import. Always try to Import first. I haven’t had any success Exporting first. I’ve had spotty success with the Network Wizard, so I’ve just abandoned it and used this method.

I apologize for the crude pictures, but this is my method. Open it in Adobe and rotate the view. Hope it helps
