MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Intertel5000 CS-5200
« on: March 08, 2019, 05:03:07 PM »
Hi

For any of you 'legacy' guys out there :)

Does anyone know whether it is possible to get CallerID to work through the onboard LS port for a normal PSTN connection or is it only the expansion cards that do that?  (System is an intertel CS-5200, I know its old)

Also, it is very unlikely that the network is becoming maxed out.  The phones by default are set to dscp46 and l2p-6 for network quality of service.  If the procurves are set to their default then they will again by default set the priority of the phone packets to the highest and therefore should work even on a maxed out network.

Hello -

A location in our setup is having intermittent disconnects that our Mitel tech cannot figure out.  All phones in this location will drop the call and display two blinking dashes (Right side on the 5324s) and then quickly reconnect.  No power is lost, no network disconnects are listed in any logs.  No alarms.  Is there anything that I should be checking on?

Thanks
Bobby

Hi,

Sounds like either, there is an ip conflict for the mitel controller where something else on the network has a duplicate.  Have a check in the logs on the mitel and see.  Also, on the procurves on the web interface look at the logs on the first screen, does it show any excessive broadcasts on any of the switches?

Are the phones and controller on the same vlan? Are they are the same ip range?  Is there any firewall or router in between the controller and handsets?

Thanks for the replies.

The 3300 is behind a firewall from the outside world but fully open to the internal network.

It is an external SIP provider.

Is this one of those things that I should just ignore since it is not causing any main issues or this the calm before the storm?

Hi!

This is exactly the same as our setup and we have the same "problem".  It isn't a problem at all....

When using a sip provider, the mitel and phone use the sip protocol to negotiate the call, as soon as the call is established the audio traffic goes directly between the handset and the sip provider, the mitel then interprets this as dropped packets.  They are not really being dropped, just simply being redirected :-)

If using isdn, all traffic obviously has to go via the pbx so this is why it doesn't happen in that situation.

Hope this helps?

not been in since 4 I think. So long hand I reckon. Is there a spreadsheet import for keys; that would help a lot...again not sure as I have little use for them for our size of customer.

Doh!  Not a problem, cheers for the reply though :-)

Yes there is the import spreadsheets, I better start typing lol....

Give them access to the desktop web tool is about the easiest....

Hi X-Man,

Thanks for replying!  I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer but at least it gives them a solution :-)

Cheers!
Rick

Sorry, me again!  I have just added a couple of users to be able to see their desktop tool and DSS/BLF isn't in the list even when clicking the "view as names" button.  Any other ideas?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Dss keys
« on: November 05, 2014, 01:14:57 PM »
Hi All

On our old 5000 system, users were able to program their own dss keys directly on their handsets.  Is there a way they can do this with the 3300?  We can do it through system programming but we have 500+ users and are looking for a way users can do this themselves.....

Mitel Software Applications / Adding users to MiCollab
« on: November 01, 2014, 04:16:25 PM »
We have 2 x mxe III controllers set up as primary and secondary.  When adding users through miCollab, it creates the device on the primary controller but doesn't set the secondary element to the secondary controller.  The only way it appears to do this is to then go into the Mxe manually and set it on the user.

Is there a way of getting this to be done automatically when creating users throigh micollab?

Hi

Is the 3300 behind a firewall of any type?  Or are you using an external sip provider for the lines or traditional isdn?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 5360 presence
« on: November 01, 2014, 03:56:05 PM »
Hi All!

I have been using these forums for quite a while but never posted, I'm hoping one of your knowledgable chaps might know the answer  :)

We have a mitel 3300 with micollab and 5360 handsets.  Does anyone know how to get the presence information showing on speedcall keys on the handset like in the image below:

Cheers in advance!
