Mitel Software Applications / MAS hardware requirements

Does anyone know the hardware requirements for the MAS Server?  I was told I could provide my own hardware rather than buying one from Mitel to be used for the MAS Server.

Yes you are correct that the carrier is requiring this to accept Non-Native Caller ID.

Essentially what happens is this:

Someone (external) calls my DID
If I don't answer it forwards to my cell phone
The system generates a call using the original external caller ID as the calling party number (so that I know who is calling me)
The carrier rejects the call because it won't authorize calls originating from this unknown calling party number

Using this workaround - the carrier sees a prefix of "999" or "*15" and therefore won't reject the call because it understands the call is coming from our system.

Thanks again for you help.

I assume you are referring to the physical server hardware?

This depends on how much processing the server will do (based on call volume), but not really expensive if you buy yourself.  I was sent a quote for a Dell PowerEdge R210 which is a pretty cheap rack mount server.  I was told minimum RAM needed is 6GB.

Wow, that was easy.. thank you!

Just to make sure I understand - when I add "999" to the Facility Groups will it always send those digits to the carrier even if it is just a normal outgoing call from my office phone?  My office phone uses an outgoing caller ID that is trusted by the carrier (my DID) so I assume they just ignore the 999?

I tested this for the Local facility group and it seemed to work fine in both scenarios (forwarded calls, and normal outbound calls).

haucke,

If you figure this out please post how you did it.  Our carrier requires the same thing (*15 or 999) in order to forward the original caller ID and I could never figure it out.  Thanks.

That link seems to suggest that UCA Basic is free?  Is that true?

ok great, so there's actually no software/firmware stored on the chassis itself?  Everything is located on the CF?

Do you know what the differences are between UCA Basic and UCA?  Is there a features list?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Backup / downgrade options
« on: February 17, 2014, 06:26:32 PM »
We have a few older Inter-Tel 5000 systems that have never been upgraded and currently are running software version 2.2.1.20.  I am looking into upgrading these to the latest 6.x release but wanted to know if a downgrade is possible or system restore in case we have issues with the upgrade.  I know I can make a backup of the database, but can I roll back to version 2.2.1.20 if for whatever reason we run into trouble and need some time to figure things out?

What are the various editions of UCA / UCX?  I'm not sure if UCX is still a product but it appears on the web from various google searches in addition to things like UCA Basic, Web, Desktop etc...

Is there a matrix showing what versions are currently available for purchase and what features they each have?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / UCA / Lync integration with Mitel 5000?

Is it possible to use the MiVoice for Lync integration on the Mitel 5000 platform (MiVoice Office) with UCA?  I thought it was, but a sales rep told me today that it only works with the 3300 platform (MiVoice Busines).
