You'd have to look at the settings in the analog gateway, or refer to the documentation on it.

any way to extract the information of the holidays, weekly schedule so that we can run a program or script to verify? currently it is more of a manual process to go into the schedules, highlight and copy them to place them in a text file and run a script to verify accuracy.

How comfortable are you with poking around in Linux filesystems? The call flow configurations are stored as XML files in "/usr/vm/val5/CallFlows", so you could download a copy of those via WinSCP (or your SFTP client of choice). Just be cautious to only read/download and not change the data in those files, which could break your call flows.

I have seen this happen with a failing RAID controller where it's like painfully slow - not a little slower than virtual. The failing RAID controller for some reason won't always generate an alarm for me.

That's entirely possible. and if it's not RAID equipped, could be a failing HDD.

Thanks for pitching in. My primary problem with MXe-III is overall response. Like, anything that I do through a web interface, be it accessing Users and Devices, or exporting a form, or generating a backup, you name it, it takes what subjectively forever in comparison with two virtual nodes in the system. And this is the same with both of my MXe's. Unfortunately I do have to keep them, as they're sort of acting like a gateway to satellite telephones, which currently require a plain analogue connection. In the future I guess none of that stuff will be needed, but who's gonna wait until then. :)

Ok, good to know it already has a Gb LAN. So then there's no means in increasing processing power (other than virtualization)?

The software is designed to run on the supported hardware as it's configured. There's no way to DIY performance improvements on the proprietary hardware that the software is written to specifically support.

It can't be seen from the attached screenshots, this one is reporting link alarms.

Clear the "Interface Type" field on the unused circuit. It's populated therefore the port is active and in alarm since there's nothing connected to it.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll dig around it a bit.

What additionally confuses me is that my other MXe-III unit does not report the same fault, even though they have same physical connections and same port/framer configuration.  :o

You could compare the Digital Links forms, I'd bet the system without an alarm doesn't have any configuration for port 2 on it.

7
If you have an unused port on a dual framer throwing a Digital Link alarm, that port has data configured against it in Digital Links (or Digital Link Assignment, if it's an older system). You need to remove that configuration data and reboot the controller to clear the alarm. Also clear the configuration for that port in Dual T1/E1 Framers.

You won't be able to remove the card in Controller Module Configuration until all the more specific programming is removed; the system will give you errors telling you what referenced programming needs to be removed first, cascading all the way down to the specific trunk configuration for each channel on the port.

This will be in your Class of Service Options under the advanced tab for the COS you have assigned to those phones. You may want to copy what you have an create one for "no phonebook" but that's up to you.

What option do I change in the COS?  I am in the Advanced tab and only see Phonebook Lookup options but no option to disable phone book.

Under Advanced -> Miscellaneous -> Multiline Set Phonebook Allowed

You can also set the Telephone Directory entry option "Include in Phonebook" to no, that will remove that entry from the phonebook in case you only want to offer a limited number of entries. Would also work for the 69xx series sets.

Does this have to be done with every extension?  We have 700+ extensions.

Yes, but you could do an export, change the field, then import. Test this on a small number of entries first before attempting it with your entire directory.

There may also be an easier way:
  • Check System Options and note what is assigned for "LDAP Client Configuration Profile ID #1" and "LDAP Client Configuration Profile ID #2"
  • Under "Integrated Directory Services", go to "LDAP Client Configuration"
  • For the profile members referenced in System Options, change "Client Status" to "Disabled". This should prevent lookup requests from connecting to the LDAP server (in this case, the MiVB)
  • Alternately, you could make the change to unused profile numbers, then change the assignment in System Options

There's a desktop client that can be run by the agents to allow them to start & stop recordings, I don't remember if it's a licensed feature or not, its been a couple of years since I looked at an MIR system.

I did try a software upgrade a month or so ago as a troubleshooting step for voicemail to email not working and had to roll it back as we didn't have software assurance and the system freaked out about licenses. Could be related... I'll try a restore next week and see what happens as I'm out of town tomorrow and over the weekend.

Side note, if I restore, am I able to upload any voicemail files that exist now that were added after the backup I restore from, or will that break things?

Funny enough, that's the exact situation I ran into. I think the upgrade does something to the existing partition (even though it shouldn't). There's a procedure to just restore the embedded VM out on KMS which worked for me. I wasn't able to figure out a way to restore the messages that were there but not showing as new. I just extracted the raw audio files, converted them in Audacity, and gave them to the customer.

Anything change recently? The only time I ever saw that was after a failed upgrade that was rolled back. I had to restore from a backup made before the failed upgrade.

You can telnet to port 1752 to view the real time SMDR feed, but that will only generate the records after the call completes. I don't know of a way to view the data for a call in progress without Contact Center Client.

If you have MiCC you can view the status of any licensed extension via Contact Center Client.
