Title: Analog Telephone Adapter recommendations other than Grandstream?
Post by: Jonathan on September 14, 2010, 02:48:27 PM
Anyone know of an ATA that will run off of a Cisco 3560 or 3750 PoE port without an external power supply? Grandstream's units all require an external power supply...

Thanks,

Jonathan

Edited July-15-2012: See the store for more on GrandStream's analog adapter (http://www.mitelforums.com/store/mitel-analog-adapters.php)

I think the reason they don't make these is the ring voltage requirements.  Maybe now that with newer PoE we have 34 Watts we'll start to see them show up.  Still not sure it is enough.

Hadn't thought about ring voltage. That makes perfect sense, though. But if you're using the adapter for outbound dialing only, then you don't need ring voltage...

True enough, but people don't generally make ATA's for outbound only......
