Title: Long Distance T-1 E&M Wink [Solved]
Post by: Tech Electronics on May 17, 2017, 08:48:54 PM
Guys,

We have a 3300 replacing an Axxess with a Long Distance T-1 E&M Wink Start. It works fine on the Axxess, but we can't get it to work on the 3300.

What are the typical settings to program an E&M T-1 in the 3300?

*******UPDATE********
Alright, I will be the first to say that I know absolutely nothing about programming a 3300 compared to a 5000. That being said I started at the beginning and read through every attribute that could be associated with the E&M T-1 and finally found the issue with Release Link Trunk not being set to E&M. Reading the description I am not sure how that would cause my issue, but it did "seem" to fix it.

What I was getting was no audio and then a time out on the call.

What I am currently getting is:
Dial LD Call [8-1-202-633-1000] it strips the 8 and sends it out the LD T-1. I heard a short "beep" tone and then a long pause of silence [~10-12 sec] before hearing ringing. The audio is fine and the call clears ok.

If anyone knows how to eliminate the tone and long pause that would be wonderful, but it does work.

Thanks,

TE

This should work without issue. I assume this is an embedded module, set up as T1/D4. The only things that might need verification is it SF or ESF. You can use either csu or dsx=1 shouldn't matter initially, I'd use csu. Digital E&M Discriptor may need to be set for DTMF versus Loop.

I have seen that sometimes a reboot is needed to get this working properly. While immediate start works right away

Usually the defaults just work.
What happens with it?
Are you getting sync?
What is the status of the individual channels?  Idle/busy/OS?
What happens when you try to dial out of it?

Guys,

Alright, the customer is unhappy with the post dial delay that did not occur on the Axxess; which I verified.

So upon further review I figure the tone is just the cut-through of audio when the digits are being dialed and service order tone cuts off and you just hear a short burst of tone. The long pause prior to it ringing seems to be standard at about 15 seconds, but I can't find a timer that I an adjust to reduce the delay before ringing.

I put in a ticket with Mitel, but I figured I would try here as well.

Thanks,

TE

Is it just your ARS Digits Dialled is set to "x+unknown"?

If you use unknown in your digits dialled, you can definitely reduce the timeout period - in the user's CoS, reduce "inter-digit time" to, say, 6.

I would verify DTMF in descriptor and ARS digit length definition. You can verify if ARS is waiting for additional digits by using the end of dial # if it isn't disabled

Johnp,

Changing the Address Signaling to DTMF in the T1-D4/E1 CAS Digtal E and M Trunk Circuit Descriptor fixed the problem.

Thanks,

+1 to you!!
