Title: 5330 Handsets and SIP configuration
Post by: cmeilleur on June 27, 2012, 05:23:48 PM
Hey all.  I Am new to Mitel products, and am attempting to set up 3 Mitel 5330 phones (http://www.mitelforums.com/store/) in SIP mode for a customer that requires Mitel phones for political purposes.

Now, I work for a VoiP service provider, so IP telephony is nothing new to me.  However, i can't get a grasp on this Mitel phone, lol.

I have gotten the phone to connect to out TFTP server, no problems there.  However, When trying to log into the phones web ui via http all I get is a page asking for a tftp server address.  (image attatched)  Also to note that the phone is attempting to download sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin from out tftp server, which i don't have / can't find.

When trying to Telnet to the phone, i get " Invalid userId/Password ".  where would telnet user info be input, and how can i get the Web page for the phone to come up.  the software load on this phone reads out as:

R8.0.04.00.01.09
BOOT 04.00.01.09

Thanks a million to anyone that can shed some light on this for me.

Warm Regards,

Chris Meilleur

This might help: http://edocs.mitel.com/UG/EN/5320_5330_5340_SIP%208.0_UG_EN.pdf

I am in a unique position where I work that half my time is spent with "traditional" telephone equipment (Mitel, ESI, Avaya) and half is spent working as a system administrator of a Broadsoft Broadworks SIP platform... I spent many hours trying to get the Mitel phones to work properly in SIP mode and was about 90% successful and then hit a wall and finally gave up, I was able to get voice calls, msg waiting, and most platform features to work, but BLF List functions and few other things are just not possible with Mitel's implementation of SIP. It has been a couple years since I did any work with them so I don't know how much I can help, but I did everything from the above document, Google, and some config guides I found on various websites (that I unfortunately do not have bookmarked anymore).

Thanks ace for that.  I didn't have the V8 edoc. That being said, I am still no further ahead.  I think that the phone failing to find that sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin file is what is causing me grief.  The Manuals all point to the web configuration tool, when it is not present.  I think the phone needs that BIN first.  One indication that leads me to this conclusion is the we page that comes up when i browse to the phone.   it says "Please select and download your language."  I have it set to English.  As a test I am changing it to "Franch" ( I LOL'd a little at  that one, being as it is my 2nd language).  The TFTP server got a request for sip5340ttnlang_fr_FR.bin.

Any one know where i can get this BIN from?  I read somewhere that we need to get it from the reseller that sold us the phones, but they are clueless.  Interesting that they don't know what I am referring to when Mitel is one of their biggest products.

Regards,

Chris Meilleur

Yeah, its coming back to me slowly now... you will need to load the actual firmware file via TFTP prior to getting much further... Mitel no longer publicly provides SIP firmware since the shutdown of http://sipdnld.mitel.com a few years ago, but the last public released version was v8.0.0.4 and I am pretty sure it contains everything you will need for any Mitel dual mode phone. It can be found here:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/R6pEpX28/MitelSIPphones_8004.html

Also, voip-info.org can get some more information using SIP mode on these phones, try starting here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Mitel+Phones

EDIT: I can probably dig up the Broadworks-Mitel Interop document if you think it will help, there is a lot of BW specific info in there, but it might help if you are looking to auto-config sets via some type of provisioning server, just let me know.

Thanks again ace.  Unfortunately the download does not contain files for the 53XX phones, only 3000 and 52XX.  I do have the Broadsoft partner config guide.  Is that what you are referring to.

The Ultimate endgame here is to get the phones online and registered, using config files if possible from either our tftp server or our web provisioning server.  However, i cant seem to get the config files right.  Even using the MN_xxxXXXxxxXXX.cfg and MN_Generic configs with base settings, i cant get t he phone to even attempt sip auth to the PBX.

Yeah... I didn't realize there were actually THREE separate archives for firmware when I remoted into my laptop at work, sorry about that. Try these, they also come from the old sipdnld.mitel.com public site:

Mitel 5312/5324 SIP Firmware - http://www.4shared.com/zip/2vT43v9g/MitelSIP_IP5312_24_2111.html
Mitel 5330/5340 SIP Firmware - http://www.4shared.com/zip/_O9c55Fh/MitelSIP_IP5330_40_16013.html

And yes, the documentation I was referring to was the Broadsoft Partner config guide... Are you planning on connecting these to Broadsoft platform? If so, we might need to talk more offline.

I had a horrible time getting these phones to talk to the profile server and pull down the files and actually connect properly and register, the ones I got working I had to setup manually, then pull the files from the phone, manually edit them and substitute Broadworks tags and then build the device management files myself, it was a nightmare!

Ace, you are a hero ;).  Got the FW on the phones and finally have a web UI.  i should have em online today. i will update.  As far as Broadworks goes, I and provisioning these to use an Asterisk.

cmeilleur and or acejavelin - can you provide any more details?  I have the same problem.  Can't find file sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin.  That file does not appear in the http://www.4shared.com/zip/_O9c55Fh/MitelSIP_IP5330_40_16013.html download.  I am able to get my phones registered, but only by coding config files and putting the on the TFTP server - there is only the minimal web interface showing.

i dont see the en_us file in there, but i think it only needs the additional language files to change the language from default.  .  It seems to be the file structure for the 5330/5340 and the 5312 / 5324 are similar, and neither of them include that file.  The only files i have are the ones linked to above on 4shared.

New to mitel, can you tell me what is MN_587854.cfg it is looking for?

And I'm facing same problem as you do, no web UI.

Wow, it's been a While, but as far as remember, the phone had just a BASIC web interface that was looking for a language selection anf tftp server address.  once i had put thte files on my tftp, it grabbed em and i was good to go.  I'd love to be acly to help further, but it slips my mind.  I do still have the generic and specific configs.  if you'd like i can negate my custom calues in them so you can have a look as to what I used.

I guys, I wonder if you can help me too?

I recently moved abroad and was given a Mitel 5312 to try and setup with my UK Sipgate account. I'm new to VOIP and SIP setup and after hours of google searching and reading forums, I'm still struggling.

My main question is, can a single Mitel phones be setup to work with a standard cable router, connected to my domestic cable broadband account?

The phone I have has firmware version R8.0.05.00.00.18. I can set it to SIP format by configuring it at boot up, but, like most people I have read about, I'm struggling to get the web configuration working to actually setup my account information.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Angus

mitelfatigue, Do you get the basic web ui on the phone asking for tftp server and language selection?  If so, i think you just need the files I posted on 4shared on a tfto server and that should do it for you.

Hi cmeilleur,

Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes I do get the basic web ui page. I am working on a Mac however and the firmware file mentioned earlier in the thread downloads as a .exe file which I can't use on a Mac. I had hoped that since the firmware on the phone already seems to be an up to date version I might not need it.

Mitel 5312/5324 SIP Firmware - http://www.4shared.com/zip/2vT43v9g/MitelSIP_IP5312_24_2111.html
Mitel 5330/5340 SIP Firmware - http://www.4shared.com/zip/_O9c55Fh/MitelSIP_IP5330_40_16013.html

I am using Tftpserver.app for the Mac to run a TFTP server and that all seems to be running happily.

Do you have the file in the format that I need to install to the phone? Then I can place it in the TFTP server.

Thanks again for your swift reply.

Angus

The files are in ZIP archive format.  You should be able to open those on a MAC.  inside those files are the bin files for the phone.  It's not  so much that firmware is old, but rather the phone needs to download a SIP software.  After that you are gravy.  Honestly though, once i had the files on our TFTP server, i just pointed the phone and away she went.  Checking the TFTP logs to see where it is failing is a good start.

If you want to PM me privately i can take a look at what you are working with.

For anyone els looking into this, mitelfatigue did get his phone online and working.  The problem seems to be the same with all the phones, the sip5324ttnlang_en_US.bin or the sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin seems to be needed and missing.  this ls the language file for the UI of the phone.  Luckily between mitelfatigue and I we had a choice of French or German as we are both multilingual.    Once I set the TFTP server to a server having the given language file, firmware files and MN_Generic.cfg it was on like donkeykong.  I know it isnt ideal, but  at least it opens the web ui to those of you that can read German, French, Espanol, etc.  I cant for the life of me remember how i got the 5340's to english.  I don't have the EN files anywhere, so that means i never did.  However I do remember setting them up in French before i got them to english.

Once the phone is ONLINE and you can log into it, you can dump it's specific config file by browsing to

you can take this (it is in english) and save it to MN_MACOFTHEPHONE.cfg on your tftp.  With this you will be able to modify this file for any settings you need to put in the phone, then reboot the unit.  These settings can also be broken up into MN_Generic.cfg and MN_User.cfg.  I beleive the order of file precedence is Generic, MAC, User.  This also includes user and admin passwords, so be carefull.  The password is an MD5Hash of your actual password. you can generate a new password here:

http://www.adamek.biz/md5-generator.php

if ANYONE has access to ANY of the en_US, en_CA, en_AU files mentioned above, PLEASE send me a message.  Maybe we can get a functional download that is usable by all up here.

 Regards,
Cmeilleur

I am trying to configure a Mitel 5304 handset for use with FreeSwitch (running on a Raspberry Pi). I am a total newbe with SIP but have been picking it up quickly. I had the same issue with the wed configuration page on my handset. After following the above information I downloaded MitelSIP_IP5312_24_2.1.1.1.zip. I extracted the file and put the Spanish .bin file on my tftp server. Using the Chrome web browser i opened the webpage and had Chrome translate it to english, problem solved. I was able to download the .cfg file and will format it to my system and place it on my tftp for testing.

Do you know of a document that explains all of the variables in the MN_<MACADDRESS>.cfg file for the phone? This is the file the phone pulls from the tftp server.

Not that i can recall.  However, you can work through the values if you have access to the UI of the phone. from the phones UI, you can see the "Live" config on the phone.  This is done by browsing to :

http//IPOFYOURPHONE/download.txt

Through noting and changing values in the UI then parsing the above referenced file that is live on the phone and comparing, you can deduce what values do what.  I have used this Many times to figure out provisioning for various devices.  Is there anything you need guidance on in particular?

Thanks for that! I have been able to get the phone working, however, now that I changed the language to Spanish I cannot switch it back to en_US without the .bin language file. So my phone displays everything in spanish now LOL. Hey it works at least! I will be hunting for that file though..

Hi, I'm having a similar problem to cmeilleur where I can't access the web UI. I'm a complete novice with Mitel phones, but have a good background of 3cx and Linksys/Cisco handsets. The mitel is definitely a different beast all together!

We've inherited a bunch of 5330e phones but want to change them to use SIP and hopefully talk to a 3cx system. I've got a handset that has been reset to factory defaults so have switched it to SIP mode and configured the TFTP settings. I've downloaded the 5340 archive suggested above and can see the phone hitting the TFTP server and failing with the common sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin file error that every one here has seen. The web interface only prompts to select a language and enter the TFTP server address, but even selecting any other language (which I have the files for) it reboots the phone and goes back to the same prompt. I guess this is a red herring though and it actually needs something else to do the firmware upgrade to provide the web UI but the key steps are missing from all posts above. I've configured the MN_Generic.cfg file which seems to do more when the phone boots, but it's still not getting anywhere.

Can anyone shed any light on this please? I've hit a brick wall and seem to be going round in circles!

Thank you Conf-it , really good guide. I hope this must work for my 5320 phones. But I not understand - will I receive normal WEB interface on my 5320 ? or I must upload firmware or language files ? now only what I see on web:
Please select and download your language.
Choose you language
Enter your TFTP Server IP address

I don't find SIP firmware for 5320 model, only for 5330 and 5340  :'( Anybody have this ?

Hi serge, I've attached the files you should need, I got these from one of the links in other posts here. I never got the web interface working and still get the same language select and tftp address prompt as you even with the phones provisioned.

I guess the 5320 will be similar to the 5330 so if you get it talking to the TFTP server you should see what files it's looking for - MN_Generic.cfg & MN_<phone mac address>.cfg are all you need to get it provisioned. I didn't need a firmware upgrade either, switching the phone to SIP mode is enough (my previous setup guide explains how to do this), just make sure it picks up option 43 from DHCP (it will show this briefly on boot up if it has - option 43 was the only setting that worked for TFTP regardless of other articles I found saying the phones support 66/125/128/150).

You can also browse to the phone IP and enter the TFTP server address manually but that would be tedious if you're provisioning multiple phones!

Hope that helps!

This applies to the range of Mitel phones that support SIP, namely: 5220 and 5215 ('Dual Mode' versions), 5224, 5235, 5330 and 5340 IP Phones

Here we done a short video changing a Mitel 5330 IP phone from Minet to SIP

Hey, I thought I'd throw my hat into this since I got this working today, from scratch, on a Mitel 5330, with no prior knowledge about how mitel phones work (but plenty of polycom TFTP experience).

#1 - you don't need the sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin
-- everything is already in english by default!
#2 - you DO need L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin
#3 - you do NOT need MainIp5340.bin
#4 - you DO need the Minet
#5 - you DO need L2Boot_5340.bin
#6 - you DO need BootIp5340.bin
#7 - you MUST have a MN_Generic.cfg
#8 - you MUST have a MN_<MACADDR>.cfg file
#9 - you do not need sip5340ttntone_EN.bin

Your phone model in the MN_Generic.cfg file must match exactly -- 5330 vs 5330e is different and will not work!

When it does work, the phone will download a few firmware files, reboot, download similar ones and reboot again - this is the firmware upgrade and switch to the IP-based website.

When you surf to the phone's IP at first and it points you to the TFTP server, set it to English and point it at your TFTP server. Monitor the tftp daemon it to make sure it goes!

I lifted my configs right out of the previously posted .doc file, and I have them attached (and scrubbed).

Hope this helps!

Also, once you go through those steps and the various sets of flashing, the full webui will become available. And FYI, the login is "admin" and the model #, in my case "5330".

Until it is fully flashed, you will get the "enter language+tftp" page.

I'll be doing a comprehensive re-do of this entire thing from scratch for our KB, so that we can support mitel phones on our platform; when that's ready, I'll post it back here.

Good luck!

How did you get past the mainIP5340 request.  My phone hangs on "Waiting for TFTP" and in the TFTP server log it shows that it continues to request the file.

Really struggling here i've got to the stage where i've got the SIP firmware on it not sure if its "fully loaded" as everytime I goto webpage it asks for TFTP address and can't get full interface as per manual.

Basically it pulls the cfg files from my TFTP server but I dont seem to be able to register with gradwell's sip server's here's what i've tried:

   <user_list>
      <User State="1" ID="7201XXX" DispName="01432 XXXXXX" Pwd="password" AuthName="7201XXX” Realm="" RegSvr="sip.gradwell.net" RegPort="5060" RegScheme="2" ProxySvr="nat.gradwell.com" ProxyPort="5082" ProxyScheme="2" VMSvr="" VMPort="5060" VMScheme="2" OutSvr="" OutPort="5060" OutCtr="0" Ring="1" Line="0" EventSvr="" EventPort="5060" EventScheme="2" NatMode="2" NatType="3" NatIp="0"></User>
    </user_list>

I've tried fulling in OutSvr, playing with NAT but everytime the phone boots eventually it comes up with *NO REG* in the top corner.

Any ideas as i'm pulling my hair out on this!

Here is a link for Mitel IP Phones 5330 - 5340 firmware working in dual-mode (MiNET + SIP) - Main Version is 05.02.01.05 :
http://roms2000.free.fr/download/mitel/Mitel_3300-R12-05.02.01.05-5330-5340.zip (http://roms2000.free.fr/download/mitel/Mitel_3300-R12-05.02.01.05-5330-5340.zip) (or get the attachement in this post below - (for registered users only))

Files in archive (for 5330 and 5340 phones only) :
BootIp5340.bin
L2Boot_5340.bin
MinetIp5340.bin
sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin
sip5340ttntone_AU.bin
sip5340ttntone_DE.bin
sip5340ttntone_FR.bin
sip5340ttntone_GB.bin
sip5340ttntone_MX.bin
sip5340ttntone_NL.bin
sip5340ttntone_NZ.bin
sip5340ttntone_US.bin

With this version, you can get BLF working for more than 4 monitoring devices and web interface on phone is OK in English.
Put this files on the tftp server (see other comments from other users to see how)

Note : in some situation (not for me), you may have to rename :
L2Boot_5340.bin to L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin
MinetIp5340.bin to MainIp5340.bin

Hope will help you - I'm sure  ;)

Please, can somebody help me with the Mitel 5324 and te 5340.
I have the bin files, i have a generic config file. thanks guys for all the info.
But still i get the login screen to type in my tftp server.
A long time ago i managed to configure one phone. and now i have 23 of them but i can't get them to go past this screen.

When the phone starts to download the language file, tftp says 100% and it restarts, doesn't get the new firmware and returns to this tftp screen. :(

Yes. I got the 5340 working.
But the 5324 still comes back with the tftp server thing  >:(

I tried the spanish thing. and i found out:
- if the phone downloads the language package BEFORE reboot he comes back to the basic web
- if the phone downloads it AFTER the reboot i can configure the bastard :)
Some of the 5324 don't want to download after reboot. they just start when the reboot is given.
I have 23 phones to do and i have 25 phones for this job.
I allready have 4 phones who don't want to be changed ;) So this is not going to work.
I try for a couple of more hours, maybe i get some more working but as they say in dutch : Ik zie het somber in...

I know this is quite an old thread, but I do have a couple questions.

1) Does anyone know what the newest version of the Dual Mode/SIP Firmware is for the 5330?  I know 5.X was posted in this thread, but I have found a copy of 6.  Anyone know if there is a version 7, 8, or later?

2) Reading through some of the stuff that others posted, I was about to use the tag <web_logo1> in version 5 to display a custom logo, however, this tag is not work in version 6.  Is there a new tag for Version 6?

3) I have the 5310 conference module for the 5330.  Does anyone know how to get this to work in SIP mode?  Is there a file I for the TFTP site to make it work?

4) Is it possible to have more than 1 version of the firmware on the TFTP site?

Hi all, I know this is an old thread but I have searched everywhere for SIP Firmware for the 5324 and 5330 IP sets and all searches lead back to this thread.
I have managed to get a number of 5224 sets working now, just struggling to find anything for the 5324 or 5330 as unfortunately, the links in this thread to the firmware files don't work.
Can anybody help me locate firmware for these devices?

the 5330 set is now working, however after attempting to apply firmware to the 5324 sets the tftp server is reporting failed attempts to request the file "sip5324ttnlang_en_US.bin" so back to square one again.
With the 5330 I got round this by using an older firmware that somebody had provided but I don't have this for the 5324.
Anyone?

I tried the web interface first and this failed.
Thanks again!

Hi guys!

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but this seems like the forum that would be the most helpful as I've seen other models in here. I have a 5320 that I just received yesterday from an eBay auction, but it doesn't seem like the SIP firmware is fully loaded as I get the update page when I navigate to the phone's IP address as opposed to the web configuration page. I've been Googling since last night, but have gotten nowhere. There is a Mitel system at the office I work at, but I don't want to have to bring in the phone and grab the firmware off that system if I can help it.

Does anyone happen to have said firmware?

Thank you much,
ipatt1993

Looks like the 5320 and 5330 are very similar.  Difference being the number of programmable line keys.  Possibly this firmware will work with the 5320 as well.

I know that this thread is an old one, but I don't want to create a new thread here.

I have Mitel 5330 and 5330s here, and I need the firmware files.  I set the phones to SIP and it asking for Choose your language and TFTP server IP.  I read this thread and seen that people posted some files here, I have downloaded them and tried it but its not what the phone is looking for.

Here is my log file from my TFTP:

I used the files out of one of the recent 3300 releases for my 5330's that I have using google voice sip gateway. One thing I found was after setting them to sip mode I also had to have them tftp again before the web page worked correctly. Just some info FWIW

Hello k030774,

I was exactly in your situation. The post which gave me the final solution was this one from roms :

http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=2800.msg22057#msg22057

Note in the end :

Note :
Quote
in some situation (not for me), you may have to rename :
L2Boot_5340.bin to L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin
MinetIp5340.bin to MainIp5340.bin

You can try this first.
But when I have updated with the firmware given in this post, I had this in the TFTP log :

Code: [Select]
Read request for file <L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin>. Mode octet [24/06 20:36:06.864]
File <L2Boot53xxTtn8M.bin> : error 2 in system call CreateFile : File is not found. [24/06 20:36:06.864]
Connection received from 192.168.1.149 on port 49158 [24/06 20:36:06.868]
Read request for file <L2Boot_5340.bin>. Mode octet [24/06 20:36:06.868]
OACK: <blksize=4096,> [24/06 20:36:06.869]
Using local port 55043 [24/06 20:36:06.869]
<L2Boot_5340.bin>: sent 25 blks, 99344 bytes in 0 s. 0 blk resent [24/06 20:36:06.939]

As you can see, if it does not find the file, it tries the other name.

But the system still needs the MN_Generic.cfg file. About this question, see above, the post of randalk :

http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=2800.msg18618#msg18618

Get the files he attached, adapt them to your needs. Probably the only edit required is the type of the phone which must match.
Change the name of the file with the MAC address to what your phone asks (MN_08000F683D49.cfg)

When I have done all that, I got at last the login of the Web Configuration Tool.

Login : admin
pass : 5330

And the configuration tool appeared ! I was able to setup the phone, and it works.

Hope you will be able to do the same.

Greetings

Dysmas

Hello cmeilleur,

did you notice that the firmware contained in the following post :

contains the long desired file : sip5340ttnlang_en_US.bin

Im not sure if this is relevent, but I had to change EN from the generic config, to GB which matched the language files.

However... My version is the one with the cordless handset, which now doesnt seem to work  :-\

Im wondering if I needed a different version of the firmware?

I am hoping to complete this same process with several dozen adopted 5330e handsets.  Using the files provided in this thread results in an "L2Boot incompatible" when the phone requests the file     L2Boot53xxeTtn8M (note the obvious "e").  My guess would be a different set of firmware files is required, but scouring the internet has returned no viable files.

Any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All. Old thread I know but I am completely new to phone systems although I am experience in general IT. I have my 3CX server up and running along with TFTP but I cannot get out 5320 or 5330 phones to connect to it. I have managed to get it into SIP mode and followed the guides on here but at the moment the phones are sticking on "Starting SIP, Downloading...1" and not going any further. Any help or advice on this would be a massive help as we have 25 perfectly good handsets that could finish up in the bin if I cant get this working.

Do you have the Mitel SIP firmware on your 3CX? If not, you will need to either install it or flash the phones with the firmware from another source. Note that Mitel does not supply the firmware separately anymore and hasn't for maybe 8 or 10 years. There was a user here who was offering their Teleworker as a download point for the software but I don't remember who.

Yeah making progress but still can't get it running fully and begging this wonderful community for some help. I have not upgraded the phone and have managed to get tTFTP working for the config files. The phone boots and appears fine but when I try and make a call I get the error "No Proxy Configured" even though when I check the web page of the phone the correct proxy is there. Tried this for both IP and FQDN.  Also, when I let the phone pick up the config file from the phone it is putting in additional info in the username i.e "001 Realm="" instead of "001". I have taken the config file out of the TFTP folder and manually saved the correct details on the web interface but still get the same error. Also, does anyone have a 3CX provisioning template for the 5330 or 5320. I'm thinking that this could be the issue because i am unable to assign it as a handset in the 3CX control panel (although I may be way off the mark with that) Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello, I have a Mitel 5330 n I´m trying to make it works with 3cx. I'm having the same problem as described here, when I write the phone's IP on my browser appears to select my language and to enter my TFTP Server IP address, the problem is that I'm a layman on this subject, I don't know how to set up a TFTP server, I don't know what's the DHCP and neither how to open it. Does anyone can help me or tell me if there is any step by step that I can folow to have it woking? Thanks for any help.

Hi lpescudeiro & c1tyfan,

The company I work for also recently purchased a 3cx... We were going to use the 3cx client until I thought we may be able to re utilize our  Mitel phones for SIP.

I am working in an enviroment with a mix of 5360,5340,5330

Let me start by stating I still have a problem with BLF. I can not get it to consistently work between extensions but.
The second little issue I have dealt with is the phones don't always consistently boot up after they've talked to the TFTP server. The TFTP server has to be shut off and then all the phones will come up. (this is OK as the phones always boot up with their last config and still work properly TFTP server needs to be turned back on to push an update.)

Everything else is working speed dials, ext to ext. auto dial, voicemail messaging light, trans/conf. NO MORE DIALING 9 or what have you.  The other nice thing is you can use the 3cx client to monitor extension (form of BLF) and you can make calls from the 3cx client to your Mitel phone.

With that said let me give you the steps to try and get your phones up and running.

List of things you will need.

1. TFTP server (I utilize TFTPd32)
2. Latest firmware from Mitel. (If you cant access i can try getting you a link to the firmware files.)
3. Manually turn phone to sip and point to TFTP server.

Changing phone to SIP

1. Reboot the phone.
2. As the phone is beginning to boot back up hold *7 until the phone states *CHANGE CONFIRMED* (This is changing the phone from Minet to SIP)

Manually entering TFTP server

1. Reboot the phone
2. As the phone is beginning to boot back up hold both the up and down arrow key
3. Select Network Parameters.
4. Select Modify Network Parameters  * for yes.
5. Press down arrow to TFTP SVR IP ADDRESS, enter IP address x.x.x.x   * to go back if needed and # for (.)
6. Scroll down until it states save changes * for yes and then * to reboot.

Using DHCP options

1. Depending on what you are using for DHCP build the following DHCP options.

Option 66,  IP format x.x.x.x
Option 128 IP format x.x.x.x

This will allow the phone to dynamically receive the TFTP server every time it reboots and easily allows you to change it in the future if needed.

Setup TFTP server

Turn on your preferred TFTP server and point to a directory where you will be storing all files. Confirm you have the correct IP interface selected.

Known files needed & Firmware needed in directory

MN_Generic.cfg (This is the generic file the Mitel SIP device pulls to see basic settings.)
MN_<macaddress>.cfg (This file overwrite MN_Generic.cfg and sets the phone up for all of its settings speedial, vmkey, user profile settings, etc)
BootIP<phonemodel>.bin
L2Boot53xxTtnM8.bin
MainIP<phonemodel>.bin
sip<phonemodel>ttnlang_EN_US.bin

Ive attached and example address of MN_generic.cfg and a MN_<macaddress>.cfg

under the MN mac address file make sure to put the proper Main and Boot version. Please watch for my notes on the config file.

It wont allow me so I will find another way tomorrow.
