Title: Phantom -> Extension -> Voicemail
Post by: jglonek on February 02, 2012, 02:14:20 PM
Hi all. I've been reading some of the help and comments on here lately and I think it's great and wanted to register. I'm hoping someone might be able to help us figure something out.

We are running a Mitel 5000 system in one of our offices and we are trying to set up prompts off the auto attendant to do the following:

Phantom Device (so we can get the phone to display things such as "CLINIC") -> Extension -> Voicemail (that Extension's voicemail)
And also Phantom Device -> Hunt Group -> Voicemail (of one of the extensions in the hunt group)

Currently if we try this the calls get forwarded to the Mitel Voice Processing System itself instead of the specific mailboxes. I'm not sure how to set this up so it works (or even if it can be done).

Thanks in advance!

Hello

For Phantom > Extension > Extns VM do the following:

Set up a system Forwarding path which points to the Voicemail Extn (normally 2500) under Devices and Feature Codes / Station Related Information / System Forwarding Paths.

On the extn you wish to forward to voicemail give it the forwarding path you have just setup and then double click the forwarding path and tell it to forward IC calls.

Make sure this extn has an associated mail box.

Done

For Phantom Device > Hunt Group > Voicemail do the following:

Under Voice Processor / Devices / Applications create a new Call Routing Announcement, delete the default prompts under Day and Night, under digit translation set the Timeout to transfer to Mailbox number you wish to receive the VM for this group (You could create a new Non Associated MB if you wish)

In your Hunt Group set the recall destination as the Call Routing Announcement you have just created, set the recall timer and job is sorted!

Let us know if you need any more help but especially let us know if you manage to sort it  ;)

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the information! I was able to get the hunt group going to voicemail perfectly with your instructions so we are good there.

Still having some trouble with the extensions themselves though. We actually already had a forwarding path (Path 1) set up to go to the Voicemail (2600). Both extensions we are trying this on were set up to go to Forwarding Path 1. I did check and their voicemail works properly if their extensions are dialed directly. The flag for IC Calls was also turned on already. When I call with the Phantom in place I get the Mitel voicemail system asking for a mailbox number.

I'll list out the other flags in case one of them could be causing the problem:

Forwarding Paths: 1
Ring Principal Once: No
Station - Busy: No
Station - DND: Yes
Station - No Answer: Yes
Station - Immediate: No
Station - Day Mode: Yes
Station -  Night Mode: Yes
Fwd Call Type - Call Routing Table: Yes
Fwd Call Type - CO Ring-In: Yes
Fwd Call Type - CO Transfer/AA/VM: Yes
Fwd Call Type - CO Recall: No
Fwd Call Type - DISA: Yes
Fwd Call Type - IC Calls: Yes

Thanks again for your help!

Glad we are half way there!

Just tested your setup on my V5.1 system and this won't even answer the second segemnt of the call, call continues to ring on the handset ignoring the System Forward to VM for the extn.

So it looks like you can't forward a forwarded call.

What you need to do is replace the Phantom with a Call Routing Announcement like the Hunt Group solution.

Point your DDI at a new CRA called Clinic for example, set the Timeout to transfer to the Phone (remember to delete default greetings) that has the Voicemail.

On my system this works perfectly.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers.

Hi Dave,

This worked great! Thank you so much for the information.

I will definitely be keeping this website bookmarked in case we run into any trouble in the future!
