Is there a way to reset the root (admin) password without re-installing the MSL?
The customer lost the password.
Thanks.

I'm afraid that's going to be a re-install.
I hope I'm wrong.

Try booting into interactive mode I think you can reset it there

Yes it can be done. I have a doc I created, send me your email and I will send across.

Thanks Mitel100,
It's working now!!

Hi
Do you still have this doc? are you able to send it to me as I am stuck on the same problem.
Thanks
-
Send me your email, I will forward it to you.
-
Is the doc confidential or can you post it on here?
-
Don't post passwords yet.
I may start allowing that but I haven't cleared it with Mitel yet.
I don't want to run afoul of things with them.
However... since Mitel has now put password recovery procedures in the latest edocs of the 3300 it doesn't look like it would be a problem.
Just don't do it yet.

The procedure should be nothing specific to MSL, a standard procedure for Linux should work fine.
Just make sure you keep the root and admin passwords in sync. They are expected to be by MSL itself.
